    Birmingham celebrateImage source, Getty Images

Birmingham's Koji Miyoshi - who had only just come on as a substitute - blasts a volley into the back of the Bristol City net from close range.

Literally, minutes earlier he had a shot cleared off the line.

He made sure the ball was across the goal line this time.

    Aaron Ramsey (45+1 mins)

Aaron Ramsey celebratesImage source, PA Media

He was the big signing of the summer for the Bluebirds, the returning hero, and boy is he making an impact.

This had all the hallmarks of a player who has worn the colours of Arsenal and Juventus, as Aaron Ramsey lets fly and leaves Mads Hermansen clutching at thin-air as the ball sizzled in off the bar.

    Real ripper of an equaliser.

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Huddersfield

Plenty of talk about big minutes being added on in games this season, so perhaps worth a mention that it's just the two at the Riverside.

    Sunderland 1-1 Rotherham

    Chances across the board.

Jack Clarke sears one just over the top for Sunderland after darting in, while Rotherham are denied by Dan Ballard after Andre Green hovered about an Ollie Rathbone delivery.

Rathbone has been very busy and very effective.

  8. League Two updatepublished at 15:42 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

Wrexham now find themselves 4-1 down to Swindon!

Ben Foster has spent most of the half picking the ball out of his net as Jake Young's double, Charlie Austin and Daniel Kemp fired past him.

Jake Bickerstaff has got one back for Wrexham but they need a few more!

    Are you not entertained??

    Blackburn 0-0 Hull

Can the sending off of Harry Pickering galvanise Blackburn?

They build down the right before a ball in finds Joe Rankin-Costello but his effort is over the bar.

  12. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:38 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    QPR 0-0 Ipswich

Great stop from the Ipswich keeper Vaclav Hladky, low and to his left, who denies QPR's Sinclair Armstrong who shoots from the edge of the box. It remains goalless at Loftus Road.

    Sheff Wed 0-0 Preston

Fairly quiet stuff at Hillsborough until this point.

But the home side find a move as Liam Palmer is released down the right flank.

He sends over a great ball that Lee Gregory stoops for but it's nicked off his head at the last moment.

Then Preston respond as Duane Holmes finds Will Keane in the area but Wednesday scramble back to clear.

  14. goal

    Wanya Marcal-Madivadua (36 mins)

    Leicester celebrateImage source, PA Media

Leicester have had to be patient for their opener and this was worth the wait.

Wanya Marcal-Madivadua - let's call him Wanya from now on - catches it beautifully after Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's corner isn't sufficiently cleared, and the King Power erupts.

The 20-year-old Portuguese is making himself a fans' favourite with efforts like that.

  15. Postpublished at 15:36 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

    Middlesbrough 0-0 Huddersfield

The departure of Chuba Akpom, who scored 29 goals last season, has placed the mantle of pressure on the existing Middlesbrough strikers plus new signing Emmanuel Latte Lath.

One player who seems to be taking on that pressure is Marcus Forss, working hard up top and forcing Lee Nicholls into another big save down low.

The Finn is right in it.

    Derby scoreImage source, Rex Features

Stevenage came into today’s game with a 100% record from their first three league games but they are down to 10 men already.

Nathan Thompson was shown a first yellow card for dissent and a 22nd minute foul led to a second booking and a red card – advantage Reading.

Derby haven’t had the best start this season but it’s looking better today thanks to Martyn Waghorn’s opener against Fleetwood.

  17. League Two updatepublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 19 August 2023

Notts County celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Will Evans' second goal has doubled Newport’s lead away at Forest Green who have new player-coach Troy Deeney watching on from the bench – I wonder if we will see him sooner rather than later?

Joe Taylor has scored twice in three minutes to put Colchester in front against MK Dons after Mo Eisa’s fourth league goal of the season gave the Dons an early lead.

Wrexham are now 3-1 behind at home to Swindon who led through Jake Young and veteran striker Charlie Austin, before Jake Bickerstaff hit back for the Welsh side on the half-hour.

But just two minutes later Daniel Kemp restored Swindon's two-goal advantage.

Morecambe lead Bradford through Michael Mellon and Accrington lead Harrogate through Sean McConville.

Macauley Langstaff, who scored a hatful in the National League last season has put Notts County ahead at Doncaster.

Isaac Hutchinson has doubled Walsall's lead at Crewe.

Leicester starting to grab the game by the scruff of the neck against Cardiff.

Foxes striker Kelechi Iheanacho is the man who looks most likely to deliver, snapping shots off for fun, the latest of which was deflected wide by a Cardiff defender.
