I'm definitely on board with Alan from Yorkshire's idea there.

Ban the begging can I have your shirt signs, which some European sides have done.
Alan from Yorkshire.
Would like to see VAR used only if the ref or a linesman asks for it. Puts an end to VAR interrupting the flow of the game and puts the officials on the pitch back in charge.
Andy, Worthing.

Manchester City won the Treble last season - FA Cup, Champions League and Premier League - as you can see from the blue ribbons.
Can they add those blue ribbons to the Community Shield today?
(I mean not literally, there's nowhere to attach ribbons to).

On football rule changes there needs to be enforcement of where players take throw ins from. They often pinch 10 to 15 yards.
David. Yorkshire.
To curb time wasting tactics, I’d love to see a time where throw-ins are required to be taken by the player closest to the ball. Stops unnecessary breaks in play waiting for the designated player to trundle down from right/left-back at every occasion.

Pep Guardiola says players are "£10m-£15m more expensive" for Manchester City to buy than for any other club.

Some 48 players have scored Community Shield goals since 2000.
Can you name them all? (Probably not)

Nobody makes Manchester City worry about things, so make them worry! This is a final, you have to win it, no matter what the trophy is.

Just under one hour to go until kick off and Wembley is filling up nicely.
There's no doubt about who Arsenal fans are most excited to see today, with Declan Rice getting the biggest cheer when his name was read out.
The England midfielder joined the Gunners from West Ham in the summer for £100m and there's big expectations that he can help elevate his new side to the next level as they look to take the title race further this time.
For Manchester City it was probably Erling Haaland who got the biggest cheer. The striker made his debut in the Community Shield last year, missing a sitter later on. He responded to that by scoring a frankly ridiculous 52 goals in all competitions.

Brownie60: Rule changes: handball, obviously. Back to what it was, has to be deliberate. Players punished for cheating: stealing yards at throw in=foul throw; preventing quick free kick= yellow card (as it used to be). Managers leaving their box= red card.
There is some more football today too with Hibs playing St Mirren and Cardiff leading Leeds 2-0 at Elland Road.

We are going to see more injury time this season.
Inspired by the last World Cup, EFL and Premier League matches are going to actually add on the right amount of time for all the delays this season.
It has started already this weekend in the Football League.
What other rule changes would you like to see brought into the game? Let us know.
I'd personally like to see the offside rule relaxed - if any bit if you is onside, you're onside.

A little over two months since seeing their side beat Manchester United to win the FA Cup, Manchester City fans have made the long journey to Wembley once again for the Community Shield.
It's another trophy, of course, but perhaps more important for both sets of fans is to get a glimpse of whether these two sides could be tussling for the Premier League title once again.
If you are a big believer in this sort of stuff then history tells us winning the traditional season curtain raiser doesn't really set the tone for a league win - the Community Shield champions have gone on to win the Premier League just once since 2011.
That one successful team? Manchester City in 2018.
Arsenal v Man City (16:00 BST)
Somebody raise that curtain.
It's time for the Community Shield, the traditional start of the season for Premier League teams.
Is it a friendly or a competitive game? A question as old as time and we'll probably never decide.
Welcome as Treble winners Manchester City face Premier League runners-up Arsenal at Wembley.
The summer is over, although it barely even started for those of us living in the UK...
