    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

Portugal will need to get a positive result in their last group game, against reigning world champions the United States, if they are to have any chance of advancing and boss Francisco Neto will be asking for more clinical finishing.

Another chance comes and goes, with Joana Marchao shooting over from the edge of the penalty area. Vietnam offering so little resistance.

    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

The Vietnam fans are still in good voice, bringing lots of colour and waving many flags. Will they get to see their country score their first ever goal at a Fifa Women's World Cup?

    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

Portugal want a penalty. Thu Thuong seems to have got away with a raised arm, although it was close to her body when the ball bounced off it. Not given.

Brilliant skill again from Jessica Silva, with a couple of stepovers to absolutely fool the Vietnam defence. The ball is played to the back post and Telma Encarnacao, with a goal and an assist already, strikes on the volley but can't keep it down.

Silva then shoots over too. Portugal should've killed this game off about 30 minutes ago. Still just the two goals and still a glimmer of hope for Vietnam.

    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

Portugal have shown some lovely touches and a drag back from Jessica Silva and then a sprint away from her marker is a great piece of skill but she can't then get the shot away and runs out of pitch.

    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

Francisca Nazareth looks to squeeze her way through the middle of the Vietnam defence, but is crowded out. Early signs in the second half are for a continuation of the first - with more Portugal domination.

Back under way in Hamilton. We've not seen a 2-2 draw in this tournament yet but, judging on the first half, I'd be absolutely amazed if we see one here.

My main thought here - how on earth did the USA only score three against Vietnam?!?

    Dave in Portugal

Knowing full well that Portugal were playing today I told my boss that I got my WFH day mixed up so I can focus on supporting the girls! (I mean multi-tasking of course!) Vamos!

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland defender on ITV 1

The communication of when to step out versus when to stay in the defensive block isn't there for Vietnam.

Some players are going one for one, some are stepping out to challenge, and there is absolutely no cohesion.

They look like the side that has made several changes not Portugal.

    HT: Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

    Fran Kirby
    England forward on ITV1

Portugal probably could have been 2-0 up before they scored the first, and it is hard to explain because Vietnam were so defensively solid against the USA.

Vietnam need to do something about the space coming down their left hand side. All of Portugal's main threats are coming down that channel.

Armchair Football Fan: Vietnam not up to standard but the longer this goes on, the more credit I'm giving to Portugal. Some of the interplay and movement is majestic. A few silky footballers in this team.

Portugal coasting. They lead thanks to goals from Telma Encarnacao and Francisca Nazareth and there are many more goals available for them in the second half.

Vietnam heading out the tournament with a whimper at the moment. They've been outplayed and Portugal are surely heading for three points and a first ever win at a Women's World Cup.

That was better from Vietnam, committing players forward at the right times and connecting passes.

    That was a big opportunity.

Vietnam have a shooting chance as the ball falls to Thi Thao 25 yards out, but her shot is deflected and that takes out all the power with the ball easily dealt with by Portugal goalkeeper Patricia Morais.

Bich Thuy then has a shot from outside the area and it is better. It would've crept inside the near post, but Morais dives to her left and grabs hold of the ball.

A rare chance for Vietnam after a heavy touch from Portugal goalkeeper Patricia Morais, with Thanh Nha closing in, but Morais recovers well with a sliding challenge to clear the danger.

M: Portugal absolutely putting Vietnam to the sword. Vibes of Spain v Zambia yesterday. Need to stay focused and plenty of goals available.

Goal difference may well be crucial in this group and another chance comes for Portugal but Andreia Jacinto shoots wide when well placed. Wasteful.

    Portugal 2-0 Vietnam

We've seen a 6-0, two 5-0s and a 4-0 in this tournament. This is heading towards another hammering.

Vietnam just unable to cope at the moment, Portugal creating chance after chance. It's two. It could be five already.

The problem for Vietnam is that they aren't even offering a threat when they do get the ball back.
