  1. Ndaba & Watson return for Kilmarnockpublished at 16:50 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (17:15)

Derek McInnes makes two switches to the Kilmarnock side that started last weekend's Viaplay Cup win away to Albion Rovers.

The home side are perhaps looking for something more defensive-minded as wide man Fraser Murray and striker Innes Cameron drop out for left-back Corrie Ndaba and teenage midfielder Ben Watson.

Forwards Kyle Vassell and Rory McKenzie, who were fitness doubts, make the bench, but centre-back Joe Wright doesn't.

    Ouch!published at 16:50 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Livingston 0-0 Aberdeen

New Aberdeen signing Slobodan Rubezic clashes with Bruce Anderson and, my goodness, this is a really sore one.

The Livi forward has blood pouring out of his head. This isn't for the faint hearted.

  3. Five debuts for new-look Rangerspublished at 16:49 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Kilmarnock v Rangers (17:15)

Michael Beale hands out five competitive debuts in his new-look Rangers side.

Jack Butland starts in goal, while midfielder Kieran Dowell and attacking trio Sam Lammers, Cyriel Dessers and Abdallah Sima also feature.

There's no place for Todd Cantwell, who is on the bench with new recruits Jose Cifuentes and Danilo.

From the team that started Rangers' final game of the 2022-23 season, it's a total of seven changes.

Livingston have had a couple of decent chances in this one in the last few minutes and manager David Martindale perhaps senses they could snatch a winner here.

He's screaming at his players from the sidelines, willing them on to take advantage of their positive passages of play.

  11. goal

GOAL St Johnstone 0-1 Heart of Midlothianpublished at 16:42 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Yutaro Oda

Hearts recycle the ball well from the corner with Nathaniel Atkinson lifting the ball back into the box.

It's ultimately knocked down into the path of Oda who hits it on the swivel and fires it into the ground, leaving Dimitar Mitov helpless as the finish goes right into the bottom corner.

  17. Postpublished at 16:37 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Livingston 0-0 Aberdeen

Ayo Obileye headers downwards from a deep corner to force Aberdeen goalkeeper Kelle Roos into a low save.

A shot on target at last!

  18. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 16:36 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

    Dundee 1-1 Motherwell

How on earth has that not gone in?

Dundee are pressing for a goal to go ahead. Luke McCowan drives down the right and drills a cross in.

Dan Casey gets a deflection on the ball and it flies past goalkeeper Liam Kelly, hits the inside of the post and flies right across the line. No takers!

  19. GREAT SAVE!published at 16:35 British Summer Time 5 August 2023

St Johnstone 0-0 Heart of Midlothian

Lawrence Shankland should have made it 1-0 for Hearts.

Stephen Kingsley's low, driven cross is met by the striker, but his flicked effort is right at the goalkeeper before Yutaro Oda can't make the follow-up count either.

St Johnstone goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov needs attention after his heroic double save and no wonder as he went right in at the feet of Oda to make the second save.
