Matt Beard will certainly be very happy if his side can replicate their performance against Arsenal last weekend and see out another 1-0 win.

Liverpool have been fantastic, and particularly in that opening 20-25 minutes they played the ball so quickly and with intent in the attacking third.

High line, pressed well and Villa have only just come into the game in since the mid-half water break.

Matt Beard will be the happier of the two managers at half time.

    Better from Villa.

They are sustaining possession much better now and starting to attack with real intent.

Since the water break Nobbs is higher up the pitch and that allows the whole Villa side to step forward up onto Liverpool.

What we saw there was Daly being higher up the pitch, Leon beating a player and exchanging passes with her, and then a great cut back into the box.

This time Jordan Nobbs was high enough to get the chance to shoot at goal, denied by a fantastic goal line clearance though.

Every single Villa player was defending in their own 18-yard box there, and it was their number nine Daly clearing the ball.

That says everything about how this first half has gone so far.
