  4. FULL-TIME Hibernian 2-1 Raith Roverspublished at 15:58 British Summer Time 20 August 2023

Three goals within 12 second-half minutes lit up the cup tie at Easter Road, where Hibs squeeze through to ensure all eight sides in the quarter-finals will come from the Premiership.

Elie Youan headed Hibs ahead, but Callum Smith's reply suggested a cup shock was on the cards for the Championship visitors.

But it only took 60 seconds for the Edinburgh side to restore their advantage through substitute Dylan Vente, who was then the victim of a high boot that led to Liam Dick's dismissal.

Lawrence Shankland, the usual goalscoring suspect at Tynecastle, netted in between his team-mates' maiden goals.

  7. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 0-0 Celticpublished at 15:49 British Summer Time 20 August 2023

Not an awful lot of goalmouth action at Rugby Park, although the ground is still abuzz with chatter after that near thing from home defender Corrie Ndaba.

Celtic have had a few glimpses of goal but haven't tested Will Dennis yet, with Kilmarnock well organised and fully committed.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic

A big chance for Kilmarnock as Corrie Ndaba leaps at the back post to meet a Stuart Findlay cross, but the defender's header flies just wide.

  9. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Celtic

No surprise to see Celtic enjoying 69% possession, but they have yet to carve open a really good chance as Kilmarnock dig in.

It looks like Daizen Maeda is going to change all of that, but the winger cuts back inside as he gathers a ball over the top from Matt O'Riley and that allows defender Lewis Mayo to get a foot in.

With job done (you'd think), Hearts have called on the cavalry.
