  2. 'Seriously messy'published at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Arsenal 1-1 Tottenham

    Matt Upson
Former Arsenal defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's a seriously messy passage of play from Arsenal. Just given David Raya plenty of praise for his save a moment ago but he won't want to watch this back. It looked to me like he had a little bit of a flap at the initial ball, doesn't get enough clearance on the back post he opts to go for it, he maybe could have left it and tipped it wide but doesn't get a particularly good hand on that.

Ben White can't react it ricochets back out but then it's all about James Maddison picks up the ball wide uses his body to shield it gets around Saka his pace to the byline cuts it back to Son.

There's three Arsenal defenders all in the same spit but the run of Son, right into the middle of all three of them it's like perfection.

Anon: Tottenham have been rubbish let's be honest... and Arsenal seemed to think it was job done at 1-0...they let the levels dropped and paid a heavy price. Tottenham lucky to be level in the game, but Arsenal raise their level again.

Dave: James Maddison is very good at football.

AP: Arsenal's defence at home is an utter shambles. They also play very nice aesthetic football, but do not have a good enough striker. Those two things will cost them this game. And they will cost them any chance of competing for the title this season.

  4. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:48 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Liverpool 1-1 West Ham

Curtis Jones volleys in at the far post but the flag is up quickly for offside.

    VAR will check this, however.

But the decision stands, no goal.

The whistle goes for half time with this one goalless.

There's boos from both sets of supporters directed at the officials.

    Milos Kerkez own goal

It's been a day of muck-ups and own goals!

Billy Gilmour floats in a cross from the left and Cherries full-back Milos Kerkez rises at the front of a group to glance a header over his own keeper and into his own net.

    Albion level with a gift.

It's fascinating how Tottenham have got back into this game.

Arsenal dominated for 40 minutes, with Spurs really struggling to cope with the press.

But the Brennan Johnson chance gave the visitors a little insight into how they could hurt the home side. They built on that quickly and effectively.

  9. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 14:44 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Chelsea 0-0 Aston Villa

Chelsea think they have the lead as Axel Disasi heads in a fine cross from the right. Disasi doesn't really celebrate as I suspect he knows he is offside and then the flag goes up. He'd just mistimed his run to meet the cross.

    All square!

Tottenham have woken up, to superb effect.

David Raya saves a Brennan Johnson shot after he'd flapped at a cross, but Tottenham come again.

James Maddison gets to the byline, pulls back and Son Heung-min sticks out a boot to steer the ball into the bottom corner.

Nice move by Liverpool as they work the ball to Mohamed Salah on the right side of the box. The ball bounces up a bit as he shoots and the shot goes wide.

Patrick: Chelsea showing intent as per but I'm worried it will be like the other games where the opposition score soon.

Chris: Tottenham are trying admirably to play out from the back but you wonder whether they have the players with the right technical attributes to do so. It's proving too easy for Arsenal to win the ball back after the first couple of passes.

Ed: I know it's a matter of principle but spurs are seriously dicing with death at the back. Honk it long, man.

    Top save!

Tottenham spring into attack and work space on the right side of the box for Son Heung-min. His pull back is met in the middle by Brennan Johnson, who thunks he's pulled his side level with a low shot.

David Raya springs to his left, though, to push it away.

That's why he's the Gunners number one at the moment.

On the home bench, Aaron Ramsdale holds aloft his hands to applaud.

  20. Spurs asking for troublepublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 24 September 2023

    Arsenal 1-0 Tottenham

    Phil McNulty
BBC Sport chief football writer at Emirates Stadium

Spurs are determined to play out from the back but it is real knife-edge stuff given the way Arsenal are pressing and they are so fortunate not to be 2-0 down after Gabriel Jesus robbed the dawdling James Maddison in the area.
