Nick: I was about to tweet to say how blunt we look with Nketiah up front. Lucky I didn't do that and make myself look a fool, eh.

You cannot fault Sheffield United's endeavour.

The Blades are working extremely hard - the bare minimum, I know - on a tough afternoon, but they can't make much stick up top.

They are trying to utilise the space behind the two Arsenal full-backs when they can.

    Good save!

Chris Mepham rises to power a header towards goal. James Trafford pushes the ball up and then has to tip it over his own bar to prevent any follow up.

This game becomes a training exercise for Arsenal now.

They can keep the ball off Sheffield United with ease, so it is down to if they want to sit on this lead or go for the kill.

I suspect that they will want to get the points sewn up by half time if they can.

Interesting to hear the ex-pros criticising Auston Trusty rather than hailing Eddie Nketiah's superb touch.

Sheffield United centre-back Trusty performs more admirably to stop Oleksandr Zinchenko nipping in to score a second.

The Arsenal full-back looks to have got behind Trusty, who recovers well to slide out for a corner.

Burnley are enjoying a decent spell now. Luca Koleosho looking very lively.

He gets in down the right but his pull-back is cut out.

Soon after, Anass Zaroury fires a shot from range straight at Andrei Radu.

Paul Heckingbottom will be tearing his hair out. They've concentrated so well, they've limited Arsenal to nothing in this first half.

Trusty's switch off, little bit flat-footed doesn't anticipate the shot. It's a wonderful finish but this is why Sheffield United are going to get relegated.

Sulaimon: Nketiah's first touch was world class and what a pass from Declan Rice.

Arsenal are aiming to cut the gap on leaders Tottenham remember.

What more incentive do the Gunners need?

Spurs were five points clear coming into today's matches but will have that cut to two if Arsenal maintain this lead.

I saw Semenyo score a goal at Anfield in the early moments of that game. He looks to be a decent bit of business.

Bristol City spent a lot of money but he's carried a threat for Bournemouth this season. That's a really tidy finish.

Bournemouth have looked really positive going forward, with Billing driving through midfield and Semenyo from wide areas.

The first goal in this game was always going to be key and Burnley got it, but the Cherries have responded brilliantly - they are on the front foot.

It looks like one of the assistant refs has hurt himself here. He's slipped on the bit of circular turf that hides a sprinkler.

Looks like he's going to carry on.

Bournemouth are on top on the pitch at the moment. That equalising goal has proved a timely boost.

  13. 'Very sloppy from a defensive point of view'published at 15:30 British Summer Time 28 October 2023

    Arsenal 1-0 Sheff Utd

    Stephen Warnock
Former England and Liverpool defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

It's very, very sloppy from Sheffield United from a defensive point of view.

A simple ball into the box from Declan Rice, not much quality or pace on it, the defender throws a leg at the ball and kicks the air, and Nketiah with a lovely finish.

Arsenal didn't even have to work for that.

  14. goal

GOAL - Arsenal 1-0 Sheff Utdpublished at 15:28 British Summer Time 28 October 2023

    Eddie Nketiah (29 mins)

Who you gonna call? Eddie Nketiah has answered in the way which Mikel Arteta wanted - with a goal.

Nketiah has replaced the injured Gabriel Jesus and makes the most of his chance with a classy finish.

A deft touch from Declan Rice's pass takes him away from his marker before coolly drilling in from 12 yards.

The England striker celebrates with his trademark celebration of picking up the phone as the Emirates rejoices.

    Burnley want a penalty.

They think Anass Zaroury is having his shirt pulled in the box by Max Aarons. He definitely is, but the Clarets man also has a handful of the Bournemouth defender's shirt. The first coming together is also outside the box.

Other than that, a nailed on pen!

Come January, but more likely end of season Ramsdale will hand in a transfer request if nothing changes - which I suspect it won't. Maybe, Arteta's plan all along was for Ramsdale to sign a new long term contract, so when the club sells him they can ask for a fair bit?

Midway through the first half in N7 and the visitors will be happy with what they've done so far.

Stayed organised, stayed compact and limiting Arsenal's space to attack.

Not seen a shot on target yet at either end.

    Relief for Marcus Tavernier!

Moments after he misses his big chance, the man who created it scores. Antoine Semenyo robs Charlie Taylor in midfield and drives forward before sending a low shot across James Trafford and inside the far corner.
