The Manchester City fans are making themselves heard in the corner to my right.

They have just reminded the home supporters they are European Cup winners - now they are recalling that 6-1 win here in 2011.

  2. Man Utd owe over £1bnpublished at 15:23 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

Man Utd v Man City (Sun, 15:30BST)

The build up to today's game has been dominated by the tributes to Sir Bobby Charlton.

However, before that came news that Sir Jim Ratcliffe's INEOS group is hoping to secure a 25% stake in Manchester United.

United released their annual financial results on Thursday.

Including the debt that was taken on at the time of the Glazer takeover, a credit facility taken on to deal with the shock created by the coronavirus pandemic and outstanding transfer fee payments, United now owe in excess of £1bn.

Many fans will argue it is not until this situation is taken care of that United can start to move forward to any great degree.

  3. goal

GOAL - Brighton 1-1 Fulhampublished at 65 mins

    Joao Palhinha

Fulham grab an equaliser from nowhere. Brighton are trying to play it out from the back, but Pascal Gross is sloppy and loses possession after Jason Steele's short pass. Alex Iwobi is involved in the build-up, with the ball dropping to Joao Palhinha.

He's 20 yards out and hits a beautiful shot that flies past Steele and we're level.

  4. Postpublished at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Liverpool 2-0 Nottingham Forest

Almost an instant impact from Liverpool substitute Harvey Elliott. He is played in free on the right side of the penalty area and shoots at goal, only to be denied by Ola Aina's excellent sliding block to steer the ball behind for a corner, which comes to nothing.

  5. 'Rodri is City's best player'published at 15:22 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

Man Utd v Man City (15:30 GMT)

    Chris Waddle
Ex-Newcastle winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

He is the best player in City's team. We rave about Haaland's goals and Kyle Walker and the goalkeeper, but Rodri is the player that makes them tick.

He reads the game well, makes tackles nd does what you need to do. He can score goals but he does that role in front of the back four and starts the moves off.

When teams play City people say 'stop Haaland', 'stop Grealish' etc. If you stop Rodri, you stop City from being able to play.

  6. 'We decided we need Jack'published at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

Manchester United v Manchester United (15:30 GMT)

    Manchester City

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, speaking to Sky Sports: "More focus has to be on what we have to do. They always have done since I was here."

Grealish over Doku: "Different styles, both so important. We need Jack back. He's playing very good. We decided we need Jack."

  7. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 15:21 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Liverpool 2-0 Nottingham Forest

A couple of changes for Liverpool. Diogo Jota, who opened the scoring, is replaced by Cody Gakpo with Harvey Elliott coming on for Ryan Gravenberch.

  8. goal

GOAL - Aston Villa 3-0 Lutonpublished at 63 mins

    Own goal - Tom Lockyer

Aston Villa are in dreamland, they're a level above.

Moussa Diaby chases a ball over the top and, with the angle against him, knocks it past the keeper and into the middle.

Luton defender Tom Lockyer tries to clear with Ollie Watkins behind him but can't wrap his foot around the ball and it skids off him into the net.

  9. 'We have an opportunity to beat them'published at 15:20 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

Manchester United v Manchester City (15:30 GMT)

    Manchester United

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag, speaking to Sky Sports: "We have good spirit and we have a fighting spirit. We are together and have a plan. I think we have a opportunity to beat them.

Winning the ball high: "If you win the ball high then opponents are out of position and you have to do better and out play them. You have to be direct. We coach the players, we coach the team and hopefully, that can transpire into the game."

Christian Eriksen: "He's one of the passers who can have great distribution, but we have other players who can do that.

    Defence choices: "Tactical."

  10. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Fulham

It is still chucking it down in Brighton with the hosts pushing for a second goal. Once again Kaoru Mitoma is involved and he plays in Mahmoud Dahoud, who in turn lays it back for Carlos Baleba but his strike is over the bar.

  11. Postpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Aston Villa 2-0 Luton

Luton are getting desperate now. Ross Barkley has a shot from range but it's always rising and goes high into the stands.

  12. Sutton's predictionpublished at 15:19 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

Man Utd v Man City (15:30 GMT)

    Sutton's predictionImage source, BBC Sport

Chris Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League matches again this season, against a variety of guests.

This week, he takes on the stars of two CBBC shows - Tash, who features in The Football Academy, and Gabe from Jamie Johnson FC.

    Sutton's prediction: 1-5

Manchester United are very good at playing on the counter-attack, and that style does suit playing City.

But United are an average side and, to predict how this might go, I think you have to look beyond their past three results and consider the unconvincing way they have won those games.

City, in contrast, look to me like they are going to smash someone sooner or later, and Sunday could be the day that happens if they return to their ruthless best.

The talk before the season started was whether United were any closer to City but, from what we've seen so far, they are miles off - and I am expecting this game to prove it.

I might give United a goal, because of their threat on the break, but City should still run away with it.

For some reason there seems to be some negativity about Erling Haaland's form this season, but I don't agree with that.

Haaland has still scored loads of goals and is the Premier League's top scorer with nine so far - he is a ridiculous talent and I will be surprised if he doesn't show it in a big way here.

    Tash's prediction: 1-2

    Gabe's prediction: 1-2

On Tuesday, Manchester United placed a wreath on Sir Bobby Charlton's seat in the directors' box.

Today a scarf is draped over the back of it.

He will never be forgotten at this club.

Moments later, Chong is flagged for offside.

  15. SUBSTITUTIONSpublished at 15:15 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Fulham

A triple change from Fulham boss Marco Silva, who needs to do something to stop this one slipping away.

On come Harry Wilson, Andreas Pereira and Rodrigo Muniz for Bobby De Cordova-Reid, Harrison Reed and Raul Jimenez.

Meanwhile, the lively Adam Lallana goes off for Brighton and on comes Ansu Fati, on loan from Barcelona.

  17. YELLOW CARDSpublished at 15:12 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Aston Villa 2-0 Luton

A couple of yellow cards at Villa Park. First Villa's Matty Cash is booked for a reckless challenge. Then Luton's Issa Kabore is shown a yellow for a late tackle on John McGinn.

  18. HITS THE WOODWORK - Brightonpublished at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 29 October 2023

    Brighton 1-0 Fulham

Adam Lallana spins away from his marker and gets chopped down just outside the penalty area to earn a free-kick for Brighton.

Captain Lewis Dunk steps up and goes for goal. He gets it over the wall but it bounces off the top of the crossbar. So close to a second for the Seagulls.
