Another cracker in the Championship shows just why this is one of the best leagues in Europe, if not the world.

Great crowds, just as great atmospheres, dramatic scorelines, belting goals, the odd dismissal.

Leicester continue their march, hoping their stay in the second tier is short-term with victory over a play-off rival in Norwich.

Last year's play-off pack has largely struggled to build on their achievement this season but Sunderland are bucking the trend - three straight wins after seeing off Blackburn

Watford-West Brom was a goalfest for 45 and a slugfest for the next... Hull-Leeds was as entertaining a stalemate as you could see and we even got chance to say goodbye to Neil Warnock - for now - after his Huddersfield side drew with Stoke.

Millwall crushed Rotherham, sorry Millers fans. But the Lions have roared back after a battering by Leeds.

    And that's your lot folks.

We'll be back Friday with Birmingham and Queens Park Rangers putting on a show. Why not catch up with us then.

    Good night.

Rotherham's crushing 3-0 loss against Millwall leaves them just a point above Swansea - even at this seven-game stage of the season.

Huddersfield move up after their draw with Stoke, who don't move at all.

West Brom drop to 15th, despite their draw with Watford.

    Top 10 in the Championship

Sunderland are tonight's big winners, climbing up to fourth after a 3-1 win at Blackburn - and despite not having a 'striker', they've now scored 11 in three.

Leicester stay nestled in behind leaders Preston after their win over Norwich, who dip below Sunderland.

    Leeds' point takes them ninth.

    Norwich 0-2 Leicester

A statement win for Leicester which will only enhance their title credentials.

Enzo Maresca made five changes to a winning side but the Foxes were still the better side and wrapped up the points courtesy of Kelechi Iheanacho's penalty in first-half stoppage-time and then Kasey McAteer's late tap-in after unselfish build-up play from star substitute Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Eight wins in nine in all competitions and perfect on the road. Norwich's best start to a season in nine years is over, as is their unbeaten home record.

    Norwich 0-2 Leicester

The visitors are toying with Norwich in added time. Keeping the ball and making them chase shadows.

Norwich just want the whistle to sound as their spirited second-half performance was all for nought.

Their winning start at home is at an end.

    Norwich 0-2 Leicester

Into eight added minutes at the end of this one.

Norwich are piling forward but Leicester look dangerous on the counter.

Jannik Vestergaard of Norwich has become the seventh player to be cautioned in this one.

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Hull might not have a better chance to have won a Yorkshire derby against Leeds, who had Joe Rodon sent-off.

Adama Traore might not sleep tonight as he somehow hit a post rather than ripple the net when played in by Aaron Connolly, and Hull's opportunity passed.

Leeds showed dogged tenacity and showed flashes of their own quality, but Wilfried Gnonto's injury is a concern for Daniel Farke, who went to see stand-in referee Tom Reeves to discuss some incidents late on.

Match official Darren Bond of course had earlier gone off with a hamstring injury.

    Huddersfield 2-2 Stoke

Neil Warnock says goodbye to Huddersfield after his latest spell in charge comes to an end with a 2-2 draw with Stoke that had all the hallmarks of his tenacity.

    It was entertaining and fun.

Both sides had the lead, and a draw might not really help either side kickstart their season but it is a point.

    Kasey McAteer (87 mins)

Against the run of play, Leicester have sealed the points.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the provider, he beats his man on the left of the area and shapes to unleash a fierce angled shot on Angus Gunn's goal, only to unselfishly square the ball to Kasey McAteer in the middle to tap into an empty net.

Norwich have been throwing everything at Leicester in the closing stages, Kenny McLean thudded the crossbar after a loose pass from keeper Mads Hermansen and Gabriel Sara has curled a free-kick into the side-netting, but it looks to all be in vain.

    Blackburn 1-3 Sunderland

Sunderland score their third against BlackburnImage source, Rex Features

Sunderland climb to fourth after a third straight win, and Tony Mowbray leaves his old club Blackburn with the spoils.

They went ahead through Jack Clarke, and despite a leveller by Harry Leonard, found the net twice more through Dan Neil and Clarke again.

Rovers yet to find their best form this season, but had plenty of chances tonight.

  11. Postpublished at 21:45 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Blackburn 1-3 Sunderland

It's all kicking off at Ewood Park, after Jack Clarke was left in a heap by a 'robust' challenge by Blackburn's Joe Rankin-Costello.

  12. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:43 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Watford 2-2 West Brom

You'd need 750 words to tell the tale of this game, but suffice it to say it was a humdinger on a rotten evening at Vicarage Road.

Tom Ince put the hosts ahead, Jed Wallace and John Swift turned the game on its head and then Metheus Martins curled a sublime equaliser... all inside the first 23 minutes.

Both sides had ample chances to win it, and it could have finished 6-6 in truth, but Watford make it six unbeaten against West Brom.

    Millwall 3-0 Rotherham

Ryan Longman celebrates for MillwallImage source, Rex Features

Millwall get back to winning ways with a clean sheet to boot.

Ryan Longman's first-half blockbuster strike from just outside the area, Zian Flemming's low strike on the turn after the turnaround and Tom Bradshaw's late blast have extended the Lions' unbeaten run against Rotherham to six games.

Boss Gary Rowett is unbeaten in nine games against the Millers and can finally start to look up the table.

  14. Postpublished at 21:39 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

    THAT WAS THE CHANCE HULL!

Beautiful play sent Aaron Connolly in, beating the offside trap, and with Ilian Meslier out to meet him, he squared it to the supporting Adama Traore, but his shot smacks off the post.

It was an open goal. Maybe the ball was travelling, and it might have been an awkward angle... Pah! I'm making his excuses for him.

    Should have scored.

GOAL: Millwall 3-0 Rotherhampublished at 21:38 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Tom Bradshaw (90+3 mins)

    That'll do it.

After 17 goals last season, Tom Bradshaw gets his first of this campaign, thrashing home the rebound after Zian Flemming's low blast was blocked.

Millwall has scored four goals in their first six games. They have three tonight.

  16. Postpublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Leeds failed to make the most of that corner.

Hull pile on pressure at the other end, a Tyler Morton ball goes into the box curled in but it's well covered by the visitors.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 21:33 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Norwich 0-1 Leicester

Mads Hermansen has produced a brilliant instinctive save to deny Shane Duffy's header after sub Onel Hernandez had superbly whipped a cross into the Leicester box.

The keeper is then alert to pounce on the loose ball as Norwich tried to return the rebound with interest.

Breathless stuff. Norwich have been on top after half-time.

  18. Postpublished at 21:33 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Leeds have a corner, Hull have an injury to Lewie Coyle.

It's holding up the game. The visitors are waiting on the injury to be sorted. Bit of a delay.

  19. Postpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Blackburn 1-3 Sunderland

    Chances at both ends.

Blackburn's Harry Pickering welts one straight at goalkeeper Anthony Patterson.

Abdoullah Ba at the other end skies one after a fierce cross from Jack Clarke popped up to the Sunderland man on the opposite side.

Hasn't taken the sting out of it.

  20. DISALLOWED GOALpublished at 21:31 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Millwall 2-0 Rotherham

Hakeem Odoffin has the ball in the net for Rotherham for a second time but once again it's ruled-out - this time for a foul in the build-up.
