Sunderland are ahead and it's Dan Neil who has drilled them in front.

Blackburn didn't sufficiently clear a corner, Neil latched onto it, drifted left across the box and then arrowed his low drive through a crowd and into the bottom right corner.

No chance Aynsley Pears, who had earlier saved from Abdoullah Ba, before the flag went up for offside.

    Millwall 1-0 Rotherham

Casper De Norre has been denied a Millwall second by a fine save from Millers keeper Viktor Johansson.

De Norre smashed in a sweet volley from the rebound after Ryan Longman saw a shot charged down.

Can the Lions double their advantage before the interval?

  3. Postpublished at 20:28 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Ryan Allsop, if it stays like this, could be on for a dream debut. The Hull City man joined in August, and so far he's made a string of saves, and just claimed a dangerous corner to snuff out an attack.

Not a bad way to introduce yourself to the home support at a sold-out stadium.

  4. Postpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Watford 2-2 West Brom

Ismael Kone should have made it 3-2 to Watford after being played through by Matheus Martins, only to blaze over with only Alex Palmer to beat.

John Swift almost made him pay at the other end but fizzed a shot over from the edge of the box.

    What a breathless encounter.

  5. Postpublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Millwall 1-0 Rotherham

The Lions are on the hunt for a second. Millers keeper Viktor Johansson has saved Tom Bradhsaw's effort from Brooke Norton-Cuffey's cross and then denied Kevin Nisbet's effort from a Zian Flemming cross soon after.

Another blockbuster effort from Matheus Martins but this one flies narrowly past the upright of Albion keeper Alex Palmer.

The goal drought at Vicarage Road has reached 20 minutes... extraordinary.

  7. goal

GOAL: Blackburn 1-1 Sunderlandpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Harry Leonard (35 mins)

Parity and you have to say it's deserved, as Blackburn have pounded the Sunderland goal.

Callum Brittain took a ball on the edge of the box and curled it back-post, where there were players queueing up, and Harry Leonard was the recipient, bulleting the ball in.

Black Cats boss Tony Mowbray has been booked for his protests.

    Norwich 0-0 Leicester

Wout Faes has headed over from a Leicester corner at one end while Christian Fassnacht has lashed over at the other after being found by Jon Rowe.

    Lively stuff so far.

    Daniel Johnson (33 mins)

    Stoke level almost immediately.

Shot initially by Tyrese Campbell was saved, and after a stuttering effort, it's eventually rapped past Lee Nicholls by Daniel Johnson.

Instant response. Not what Neil Warnock wanted to see so soon after Huddersfield had taken the lead.

  10. goal

GOAL: Huddersfield 1-0 Stokepublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Matty Pearson (31 mins)

Huddersfield have the lead and it's Matty Pearson gets it.

It's a lovely free-kick into the box and Pearson soars highest to power it beyond Mark Travers.

Wheels away in delight and Neil Warnock punches the air.

  11. Postpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Millwall 1-0 Rotherham

Fred Onyedimna has come close to an instant reply for Rotherham as he headed narrowly wide from a Sam Clucas cross.

  12. Postpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Georginio Rutter takes the ball into his path after Hull failed to deal with a ball through the middle, but as he bears down on Ryan Allsop, the goalkeeper saves well.

Allsop was brought into action again for Hull just a moment ago, beating away a fierce Crysencio Summerville strike.

Leeds rallying. Joel Piroe gets a shot away in the box, but it's bravely blocked.

Sunderland ahead. Rode their luck early on but they're in front now.

  14. goal

GOAL: Millwall 1-0 Rotherhampublished at 20:14 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Ryan Longman (37 mins)

    The hosts are in front...

Ryan Longman has been at the heart of most of Millwall's best stuff and it's he who has broken the deadlock, making a yard of space just outside the area and unleashing a right-footer howitzer inside the far post with Viktor Johansson clutching at thin air.

No more than the Lions deserve.

  15. PENALTY TO SUNDERLANDpublished at 20:13 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

Jack Clarke is clipped by Ryan Hedges in the box. Sunderland penalty!

    Hull 0-0 Leeds

Crysencio Summerville has come on for Leeds, after Italy international Willy Gnonto had to limp off.

He made a slow trudge to the sideline. Could be a big miss for Leeds.

  17. REPLACEMENT REFEREEpublished at 20:10 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

Referee Darren Bond has limped away from the middle with a bit of a hamstring issue.

Tom Reeves might well be replacing him.

  18. goal

GOAL: Watford 2-2 West Brompublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Matheus Martins (23 mins)

A trademark goal from Watford talisman Matheus Martins who drives towards the left of the area, beats his man, cuts inside onto his right foot and curls a delicious finish inside the far post past the diving Alex Palmer.

A great goal and a great game.

  19. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Norwich 0-0 Leicester

We're underway in the final game of the night in the Championship.

Jack Stacey has stung the palms of Leicester keeper Mads Hermansen in the opening exchanges.

Leicester have made five chances from the side which battered Southamton 4-1 on Friday - no surprises that Foxes boss Enzo Maresca learned from Pep Guardiola, hey?

The Leicester bench has a transfer value of £76m tonight - not bad for the second tier.

  20. Postpublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 20 September 2023

    Huddersfield 0-0 Stoke

Snappy volley by Jack Rudoni brings Mark Travers to life in the Stoke goal. Huddersfield glad to break the cycle of Potters pressure.

Before that, Sead Haksabanovic had a chance for Stoke, which flicks over the bar on its way through.
