  1. KICK-OFFpublished at 46 mins

    Southampton 3-0 Leeds

We are back under way at St Mary's.

Leeds have a lot of work to do if they want to get back into this one.

Something tells me this is going to be a pretty electric second half.

Saints' best 11 to start a game this season... this performance has been long awaited at St Mary's! Clean sheet is a must though.

    Alex, a happy Saints fan

The dream start from Southampton who look like a totally different team right now.

Leeds will be disappointed with that first-half effort.

Remember United entered the game with four clean sheets in a row, and hadn't conceded a goal since the end of August.

    Now here come Leeds.

Crysencio Summerville with a mid-range strike just inside the box.

But it is charged down by a Saints defender who slams his head into the ball and clears.

    Southampton 3-0 Leeds

A chance from Southampton's Carlos Alcaraz.

The Argentine with a free header at the back post but it floats over the bar.

    Five minutes of added time.

  6. Postpublished at 40 mins

    Southampton 3-0 Leeds

The referee John Brooks has paused play and is having a word with a Southampton and a Leeds player after a bit of a scuffle.

It's getting as bit tense out there.

    Keep your cool lads.

Five minutes or so left before the half-time oranges.

Lilifer: Can someone ask the Saints team what they’ve been eating/drinking? I need some for work later!!

Saints are playing like their hair is on fire.

This has been a mad first half.

Can Leeds get one back before the break?

    Just breathe.

    Someone send oxygen.

  9. goal

    Adam Adamstrong

Adam Armstrong is unmarked at the back post.

Receives the ball, switches from right to left, left to right, puts the Leeds defender on skates and on his backside.

Shoots from a tight angle (again) and past Illan Meslier in goal.

It's a lovely, lovely goal by Southampton.

    That looked too easy.

Kamaldeen Sulemana, from the edge of the Leeds box on the Saints left, casually passes to Will Smallbone who is standing near the penalty spot.

The midfielder shoots in slow motion first time and places the ball neatly off the inside of the post.

We've got a pause in play at St Mary's.

Leeds forward Crysencio Summerville is down injured and Patrick Bamford is warming up for United on the touchline.

Looks like he picked up a knock tracking back to defend.

Leeds forward Joel Piroe has a powerful shot from just inside the box charged down by two Southampton defenders.

Sam Byram picks up the rebound but slices the ball well wide.

    Much better from the visitors.

Ted Osborne: As a Saints fan I was feeling very nervous for this game but the first 20 minutes have been very positive from us. Let’s hope we can keep a clean sheet for once!

You've reported Saints as having scored after only 2 minutes. Getting a mate at the match to confirm if I have to report your post as fake news.

    Tobias, Southampton.

    Southampton 1-0 Leeds

Leeds are pressing and Daniel James strips the ball off Southampton's Jan Bednarek and comes close to collecting it in space just outside the Saints box.

But the home side have enough back to clear.

  16. Postpublished at 19 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Leeds

Leeds are growing into this game now.

More possession, better on the ball and trying to find some creases between the heaps of Southampton defenders.

Christian Evans: Nine games in and I already can’t see a way back for us (Sheff Wed) the club is an absolute shambles from top to bottom, manager AND owner both need to pack up and go.

Stavros Makro: Leeds are playing like they haven't conceded!

  18. GREAT SAVE!published at 17 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Leeds

From Southampton's Gavin Bazunu to deny Leeds' Georginio Rutter.

A terrific individual effort from French forward who dribbled the ball around the edge of the Saints penalty area, twisting and turning to evade his defender.

Then he uncorks a curler across the face of goal but a flying Bazunu is equal to it and pushes the ball away.

    Southampton 1-0 Leeds

Speaking of scoring early goals, although Leeds have totally trounced two of their last three league opponents 3-0, only one of those six goals was scored in the opening 45 minutes.

The other five were all scored deep into the second half.

Daniel Farke’s squad taking a little time to warm-up their shooting boots, so it seems.

  20. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Southampton 1-0 Leeds

Ooof a let off for the Leeds keeper Illan Meslier who came out to collect the corner but fumbled the catch.

The ball bounces off his gloves and down to his feet in the six-yard-box but a Saints player kicks it over the bar.

    Nervy stuff.
