    Former West Ham captain Mark Noble: "I remember the feelings of the final whistle and West Ham being European Champions again which is really special.

    "It was stressful, when you're in control and on the pitch it's much easier than watching. To go on and win that, the fans had an incredible journey with us and to pay them back with a trophy was special."

    After the group stages, there will be a preliminary knockout round with 16 teams, eight third-placed teams from Europa League group stage and eight runners-up from the group stage.

    The knockouts will then contain the eight group winners from the group stage and the eight winners from the preliminary knockout round.

    The Europa League final will take place on 29 May at the Agia Sofia Stadium in Athens, Greece.

    With a capacity of 32,000, the stadium, which is also referred to as the AEK Arena for UEFA competitions, is the home of AEK Athens.

    Aston Villa and Aberdeen can be drawn in the same group as they are in different pots - Villa in pot two, the Dons in pot four.

    In the Europa Conference League, the draw features 32 teams. Twenty-two of them are Europa Conference League play-off winners and the other 10 are sides transferring from the Europa League qualifying play-offs.

    After finishing seventh in the Premier League last season, Unai Emery's Aston Villa were granted a qualifier spot. They then secured their place in the group stage following a 3-0 play-off second leg victory against Hibernian, progressing 8-0 on aggregate.

    Aberdeen dropped down to the Conference League after missing out on the Europa League group stages following a 5-3 aggregate loss to Swedish side BK Hacken.

    One family who will have been watching this draw with keen interest is the Mac Allister clan.

    Liverpool have drawn LASK, Toulouse and Union St-Gilloise, where Alexis Mac Allister's brother Kevin plays.

    Kevin, 25, is a defender, so he may well be seeing a bit more of his brother at some point soon.

    To clarify, group winners will go through to the round of 16, while runners-up will contest the knockout round play-offs against the third-placed sides from the Champions League.

    Third-placed sides in each Europa League group will transfer to the Europa Conference League knockout round play-offs, where they will face the Europa Conference League group runners-up for places in the last 16.

    Does that make sense? I hope so...
