    Ajax 0-0 Brighton

Silencing the boisterous 50,000 home crowd could be tough.

Brighton try to quieten the early enthusiasm by settling into their possession-based game and stopping Ajax getting on the front foot early.

We are under way in Toulouse and Amsterdam. And a whole load of other places too.

But don't be expecting too much chat about Servette v Sheriff Tiraspol or Qarabag v Bayer Leverkusen in truth.

The Johan Cruyff Arena looks and sounds like a nightclub.

    Strobes flashing and BPMs pumping.

With the rain hammering down in the Dutch capital, the roof in the stadium is closed for the night and that makes for an incredible atmosphere as the players come out of the tunnel.

The atmosphere in Toulouse is something the Liverpool players will have to contend with tonight.

We got a glimpse of it at Anfield a few weeks ago, their away fans were very loud and proud, singing the whole game.

It is something the young players in the Liverpool starting eleven may not have experienced before, so could be a factor in how this game pans out.

It's one thing to have the away fans chanting, bouncing and jeering but to be surrounded by a whole stadium of it is a whole other prospect.

When these sides met in Sussex a fortnight, it was a memorable and historic night for the hosts.

Brighton earned their first victory in UEFA competition with a 2-0 win over the four-time European champions, keeping their hopes of reaching the knockout stage alive and kicking.

The Seagulls lost their opening Group B game at home to AEK Athens before drawing at Marseille.

The victory against Ajax leaves them just a point adrift of leaders Marseille at the halfway point of the group stage.

    All to play for.

What an experience and opportunity it is for Ben Doak to join Liverpool and learn from Mohammed Salah, one of the best wingers in the world.

Three appearances so far this season, and again this is an opportunity for him to be rotated into the side and gain vital experience.

If this was Champions League you would not expect to see the likes of Doak and the other young players, but this is a great chance to experiment and let the young players play.

I'm looking forward to seeing Alexis Mac Allister higher up the pitch for Liverpool.

Since he came to the club he has been doing a dual role where he sometimes also plays as the dictator at the base of midfield.

The group is done, Liverpool will undoubtedly qualify, and he is suspended at the weekend.

Tonight he comes in to the team higher up so he is freed up to be a bit more forward thinking. He needs to go and get on the ball, maybe score a goal, just remind everyone what a good player he is.

He can be the difference maker for them.

    Ajax v Brighton (17:45 GMT)

Dutch Seagulls member Werner Schroer told BBC Radio Sussex's Albion Unlimited podcast that tonight's game feels like a dream come true: "I’m excited and also a bit scared. We did very well in Brighton but Ajax are a very big team, so I really hope we get a good result.

"If 15 years ago someone had have told us we would play teams like Ajax, Athens or Marseille, it would probably only be in a friendly before the season kicks off. It is very special. I’m still pinching my arm - it’s pretty blue at the moment!

"Playing against a Dutch opponent especially is a dream come true but it’s also a bit scary because not that many people knew Brighton, but more and more do now.

"It’s the perfect moment to get a good result in Amsterdam and stay in the minds of Ajax supporters for the next 20 years."

In 1995, Ajax won the European Cup. The same year, Brighton were homeless and heading out of business.

Truly amazing how far the Seagulls have come since these dark days.

So it is no wonder thousands of Albion fans have travelled by plane, train and car to Amsterdam for the club's second European away match.

Dam Square has been heaving all day. Sure the world famous cafes and bars have been raking in the Euros, too.

Just off Dam Square, there was an extra treat for the travelling supporters from England - a group of Dutch-based Brighton fans have been dishing out stroopwafels. Free stroopwafels!

Our colleagues at BBC Sussex have been documenting the experience of the Brighton fans.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp: "I expect Toulouse to go for it. It is a home game, it is a European competition and if you want to go through the group, and it's a tight group, you better win and I think that Toulouse see that chance.

"They will try to use the atmosphere. We are quite experienced in European competition in the last few years, and we know away games are different."

Joao Pedro is enjoying his first taste of European football.

The Brighton striker netted the club's first goal in Uefa competition when he scored from the spot against AEK Athens, adding further goals at Marseille and against Ajax.

The 22-year-old Brazilian is chatting away on his phone on the Johan Cruyff Stadium pitch, perhaps showing his family back home where is going to be playing tonight.

Excitement everywhere in Amsterdam for the Brighton contingent.
