This one took a while to get going, but an own goal from Brandon Cooper just over five minutes before the interval sees the Spireites lead at the break.

Plenty more to come from this one I feel!

  5. Postpublished at 56 mins

    Eastleigh 1-0 Reading

Joel Pereira has to be big at the back-post to deny Eastleigh and Paul McCallum again, after Lee Hodson's inswinger found him on his tod at the back post.

At the other end, Clinton Mola zips down the left and his cross-shot is only just the wrong side of the far upright.

  6. Postpublished at 54 mins

    Eastleigh 1-0 Reading

Great tackle from Reading's Clinton Mola. Wraps the arms, doesn't go high.

Oh, I'm not covering rugby league today am I.

Silly, cynical grab that leaves Jake Taylor down.

    Eastleigh 1-0 Reading

    Mick Gooding
Ex-Reading player/manager on BBC Radio Berkshire

Reading need to keep the tempo high, be nice and positive and force Eastleigh back as much as they can. They started the half well but Eastleigh have nulled them a little bit.

Joel Pereira has to twist himself abruptly to palm away a Chris Maguire cross as Eastleigh come forward, but the ball was out of play anyway.

GOAL: Chesterfield 1-0 Leyton Orientpublished at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2023

    Brandon Cooper OG (39 mins)

It's an own goal, but Chesterfield won't care!

Ollie Banks whips in a wonderful cross and Brandon Cooper is the unfortunate Orient player who flicks it over Solomon Brynn's head into the back of his own net.

The home side get what they deserve.

Powerful block in the box by Eastleigh as Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan tries to get a shot away.

  12. Postpublished at 46 mins

    Eastleigh 1-0 Reading

Couple of changes for Reading as Harlee Dean and Paul Mukairu replace Matt Carson and Ben Elliott.

Floodlights are on and it's absolutely slatting it down on the south coast.

    Aldershot 1-1 Stockport

    Phil Brown
Former Bolton assistant manager on BBC Radio Manchester

Aldershot are very patient, allowing Stockport players to come out, giving them a false sense of security, and then going tight. Stockport are playing without confidence at the moment. Aldershot have more than impressed me.

    Back underway.

  15. Postpublished at 14:35 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2023

    Aldershot 1-1 Stockport

A few shaky moments for the League Two side.

Aldershot have nabbed the ball off the away side several times in the last few minutes and launched some threatening counter attacks.

Tommy Widdrington will be happy with his side's performance so far, they are applying the pressure.

It’s been really good in the last few minutes from Chesterfield. We’ve seen both full-backs pushing forward. The crowd are up for it as well.

  20. HALF-TIMEpublished at 14:21 Greenwich Mean Time 3 December 2023

    Eastleigh 1-0 Reading

So far so good for the ambitious National League side Eastleigh, as a goal from Paul McCallum has them up on their League One opponents.

We've had some good tussles, a Reading protest against their ownership featuring a host of tennis balls, and plenty of crowd atmosphere.

Ruben Selles' side have been well in the same despite the score, and they will get chances. But Eastleigh are equally dangerous, and importantly already have the goal.
