    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

One shot on target. One goal. And it was a beauty.

Hearts probably deserve their lead, which came from a glorious Jorge Grant finish.

The game has lacked serious attacking quality, but it's been far from dull.

And there it is, the goal the game needed. It was well worth the wait, too.

Beautifully set up by Lawrence Shankland and Jorge Grant, brought back into the side tonight by manager Steven Naismith, repays the faith with a fabulous first-time finish.

Should be decent from here, with Killie needing an equaliser and Hearts dangerous on the break.

  9. 'What a composed finish'published at 20:28 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

    Lee McCulloch
Former Rangers midfielder & Kilmarnock manager on BBC Sportsound

What a goal. Great pass into Shankland's feet and he controls it first time into the path of Grant.

What a composed finish, no chance for Will Dennis.

GOAL! Kilmarnock 0-1 Heartspublished at 20:25 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    Jorge Grant

    Just ignore me.

Kyle Rowles snaps a pass into Lawrence Shankland, who cushions a lovely lay-off for Jorge Grant to place a gorgeous finish into the bottom-right corner from the edge of the box.

A superb goal. "Final moment is lacking," said the BBC live-texter. Ha.

There's definitely urgency from Hearts tonight, but the final moment is lacking.

Not many options in the final third.

    Cammy Bell

    It's been cagey.

Killie will be happy with the way they've played in the first half though, they've defended well and they'll be comfortable with where they are.

The last 10 minutes or so have been a painful watch.

What happened to the enterprising first phase, when Lawrence Shankland had a couple of chances while Matty Kennedy was doing his silky stuff at the other end?

Seems a long time ago now.

    Kilmarnock 0-0 Hearts

    Lee McCulloch
Former Rangers midfielder & Kilmarnock manager on BBC Sportsound

No one's really got their foot on the ball and passed it about, it's been up in the air a lot.
