Well, we can all head to bed without a Scotland defeat looming over us.

Sophie Howard's late heroics salvaged a point on a disappointing night for Pedro Martinez Losa's side.

The signs of promise were less bright than in recent showings, but their sign of togetherness has never wavered.

More quality will need to be on show next time round if they're to climb the table. Until then, see you later!

  2. 'Competitive games great for development'published at 22:22 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    FT: Scotland 1-1 Belgium

More from Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa, who agrees with England boss Sarina Wiegman on the competitiveness of Group A1, but insists the high standard of competition is only a good thing for an evolving Scotland squad.

He tells BBC Scotland: "I think Sarina explained yesterday that it is very competitive. Their game against us was very competitive and, as you can see from their result, again tonight, how difficult it was for England.

"For us, it is great for the development of the team and for increasing the standards. Apart from that, we wish to get more points and in the next camp we get another opportunity."

    FT: Scotland 1-1 Belgium

That was Sophie Howard's first Scotland goal since 2019, in a 3-2 win over Jamaica on a sunny summer's day.

Significantly, it was a send off for the World Cup. Could her goal end up playing a part in qualification for the next major tournament in 2025?

  4. All to play forpublished at 22:15 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    FT: Scotland 1-1 Belgium

Scotland go bottom of Group A1, but are just three points off a table-topping Belgium side they arguably should have blown away in the first half.

The Netherlands put on a late show too, scoring in the 90th minute to seal a 2-1 win over European champions and World Cup finalists England.

The group's tight, but you wouldn't expect much less after just two games. It seems anyone can challenge anyone in this group, which can only be a good test for a Scotland side that has sorely lacked competitive fixtures due to their World Cup absence.

It looks better, it feels better. Even for the players too now that they're up and running. It keeps things open and I'm sure points will be shared.

  7. 'Relieved' Emslie looking to build on Belgium drawpublished at 22:06 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    FT: Scotland 1-1 Belgium

Scotland forward Claire Emslie has said Sophie Howard's last-gasp equaliser to earn Scotland their first Nations League points is a solid foundation to build on ahead of the next international break.

She tells BBC Scotland: "Getting that goal at the end is a bit of relief. I think we could've got more from the game, I think we had the chances, so I think we're just glad to get our first point.

"We're playing against the top teams, so to get a result tonight is a first step. We want to grow."

    Jen Beattie
Former Scotland defender on BBC Scotland

Sophie Howard, she's in her prime in the box. She's an unbelievable defender in the box but is also just as good up the other end.

She is so strong, she uses her presence so well. That would've felt like a win for her.

I'm still processing that Scotland scored at the end there.

Really felt like it was never coming in that second half. A poor performance, no doubt, but the heart on show is undeniable.

  11. 'We deserved more' - Martinez Losapublished at 21:53 British Summer Time 26 September 2023

    FT: Scotland 1-1 Belgium

Scotland Head Coach Pedro Martinez Losa says his team could have had more from the game, but he has pride in the late comeback.

He tells BBC Scotland: "Very proud of the team. I think the way we played, we deserved more from the game.

"We were aware we had a very difficult opponent. They compete very well with a game plan and were very good at executing it as we could see. I think we created many chances.

"Losing Caroline [Weir] for us is a big loss and the referee needs to be more aware of situations when they are targeting our best players. The level has to be higher. We were penalised against England and we were penalised here. I thought there was a penalty in the first minute - maybe yes, maybe no."

It's a big goal, and a late goal. I'm sure the players will take an awful lot from it.

I think it's been a mixed bag, a missed opportunity if I'm being honest. I think Scotland are a better team than they have shown tonight.
