    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

85% possession in the first quarter for Rangers is startling.

They've completely dominated this and are using the ball well.

  2. Sima makes his markpublished at 20:27 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Abdallah Sima netted his fourth goal for Rangers in the 10th minute.

Richard Jensen and Stefan Gartenmann seem to have settled in to Scottish football pretty well. The pair are rarely flustered and are bringing a real composure to the Aberdeen rear guard.

Both players seem to have the handy trait of always being in the right place at the right time.

  4. CLOSE!published at 20:25 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

A wonderful pass from the outside of Jose Cifuentes' right foot almost creates another goal for Abdallah Sima, with Shamal George off his line to divert the ball out for a Rangers corner.

  5. Boyle inches awaypublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

Moments after St Mirren should have taken the lead, Hibs do the same and miss a glorious chance.

Joe Newell's delicious cross should be knocked home by the sliding Martin Boyle, but he's just an inch away from connecting.

  6. Livi trapped by Gerspublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

    Allan Preston
Former St Johnstone defender on BBC Sportsound

Livingston just can't get out. They are camping themselves in about 25 yards out from goal.

  7. Olusanya should scorepublished at 20:23 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Hibernian 0-0 St Mirren

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Easter Road

At last, some goalmouth action. And St Mirren should be ahead.

A nice ball forward catches Rocky Bushiri out. Toyosi Olusanya has a chance to lob the stranded David Marshall.

He does, but the ball goes wide of the left-hand post. Should have been the opening goal for the visitors.

  8. 'Clear' foul but Rangers leadpublished at 20:21 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

That's exactly what Rangers needed after the opening 10 minutes. But I think that is a clear foul as it comes for a push.

  9. Puzzled looks across gantrypublished at 20:19 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

It seemed certain that goal was going to be chopped off. It looked a clear push on first view by Abdallah Sima before his excellent finish. The replays suggested that too.

One for David Martindale post-match I think...

  10. Poignant momentpublished at 20:18 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Rangers and Livingston players and supporters fell silent to honour the late Jim Forrest pre-match.

  11. Postpublished at 20:17 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Livingston

Jamie Brandon is in the thick of it again, heading Sam Lammers' teasing delivery out for a Rangers corner with Abdallah Sima waiting to pounce.

The corner comes to nothing, but the tussle between Brandon and Sima is a key clash in this contest.

That could have been game over - Duk squared the ball to Bojan Miovski, who slipped at the crucial moment.

Any sort of touch and that would have been 2-0 to Aberdeen.

  15. goal

GOAL! Rangers 1-0 Livingstonpublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Abdallah Sima

    Cracker of a finish.

Abdallah Sima closes down Jamie Brandon and robs the Livingston defender of possession, much to the visitors' dismay - more on that in a sec.

Sima takes his time on the left edge of the box and bends a strong shot into the far corner.

Livi may have been hoping for VAR to overturn that one for the challenge on Brandon but the goal stands.

  16. 'Incredible' savepublished at 20:11 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Sportsound

It probably should be 1-0 had it not been for that incredible save.

  17. GREAT SAVE!published at 20:11 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

The quick interchange of passing is a noticeable feature of Rangers' play so far.

In one advance, Sam Lammers' shot hits team-mate Kemar Roofe's back and James Tavernier's rebound is well saved by Shamal George.

  18. Postpublished at 20:09 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Ross County 0-1 Aberdeen

County striker Simon Murray picks up a yellow for the hosts as they continue to struggle in the opening stages.

It's currently just the 83% possession for Aberdeen so far, a dominant opening 20 minutes or so to say the least for Barry Robson's side.

  19. Bright start from hostspublished at 20:07 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

    Rangers 0-0 Livingston

Rangers manager Michael Beale indicated pre-match he was looking for an improved performance after Sunday's laboured win over Motherwell and there's certainly been some urgency from the hosts in the opening minutes.

Jose Cifuentes finds himself in a wide position, takes his time to pick his cross and forces a corner. Captain James Tavernier takes and Ben Davies flicks over at the near post.

  20. Postpublished at 20:06 British Summer Time 27 September 2023

The game has just ticked through the 20-minute mark in Dingwall and already it feels like this has the potential to be a very, very long night for 10-man Ross County.
