  1. A long way back for Hibspublished at 16:07 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    HT: Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

Hibs hit back from 2-0 down in the Edinburgh derby but will need a huge improvement to have any chance of getting something from this game.

The visitors have been all at sea in defence and completely overrun in midfield.

Dangerous wingers Martin Boyle and Elie Youan have not been involved.

Was going with a 4-4-2 a wise decision from Nick Montgomery?

  2. 'Armstrong leads the way for Killie'published at 16:02 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    HT: Kilmarnock 2-1 Livingston

    Kheredine Idessane
BBC Sport Scotland at Rugby Park

I gave this one the big build-up as these teams shared a dozen goals in their four matches last season. The average of three a game was met by half-time as this one caught life midway through the first period.

Killie well worth their interval lead on possession, play and chances created.

Livingston could have been three down before their penalty levelled things - I would imagine manager David Martindale won't be best pleased with going behind again to a set-piece.

Changes for the visitors after the break? Home boss Derek McInnes will want more of the same from his troops, for whom - not for the first time - Danny Armstrong has been the stand-out contributor.

  6. HALF-TIME Rangers 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:52 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

Goals from Abdallah Sima and Nicolas Raskin look to be handing Philippe Clement a perfect start to his reign as Rangers manager.

The home side have endured a couple of nervous moments at the other end but are well worthy of their lead.

Hibs' six-game unbeaten run, five under Nick Montgomery, is in serious danger.

    Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

Nicolas Raskin looks to add his second Rangers goal so soon after his first.

However, the midfielder just fails to make a decisive connection on John Souttar's dangerous ball over the top.

He sticks up a leg when going for a header might have been the better option.

Hibs really are at sixes and sevens...

  8. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 2-1 Livingstonpublished at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

The half ends with another Danny Armstrong delivery causing problems in the Livi box.

The Killie winger has scored one and created another as the home side go down the tunnel in the lead.

Livi got back on terms with Sean Kelly's penalty, but they deserve to be behind in Ayrshire.

  9. Marshall slow on the move?published at 15:51 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Scotland

I do think David Marshall maybe could have moved his feet a bit quicker and got across to that.

    It goes in pretty slowly.

  10. 'Delight for Clement'published at 15:50 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers 2-0 Hibernian

    Lee McCulloch
Former Rangers midfielder on BBC Sportsound

What a finish, what a goal.

Raskin picks it up a good 30 yards out and fires it into the bottom corner, Marshall was unsighted, he sees it late.

    Philippe Clement will be delighted.

  11. 'Can't take your eyes off this one'published at 15:49 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Kilmarnock 2-1 Livingston

    Kheredine Idessane

Three goals, a couple of cards, missed chances, good saves. These two are delivering once again. Blink and you miss something here at Rugby Park.

GOAL Rangers 2-0 Hibernianpublished at 15:47 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Nicolas Raskin

    Some finish from Nicolas Raskin.

The Belgian midfielder takes advantage after Joe Newell loses the ball to Sam Lammers before firing low into the corner from 25 yards past a struggling David Marshall.

There's a suggestion of a foul by the Rangers attacking midfielder, but the goal stands after a VAR check.

  13. 'Hibs fail to get pass marks'published at 15:45 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Hibernian

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Scotland Sportsound

With the pace they have, Hibs should be more of a threat but they are not picking the right passes.

  14. goal

GOAL Kilmarnock 2-1 Livingstonpublished at 15:43 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Kyle Vassell

A big sigh and a shake of the head from David Martindale in the Livi dugout says it all.

A wide free-kick from Danny Armstrong finds Kyle Vassell all too easily and the Killie striker does brilliantly to cushion a header in to the far corner.

    Kilmarnock 1-1 Livingston

    Feisty stuff.

Killie players are furious with Mikey Devlin. They feel the Livi captain has put an elbow into the face of teenager David Watson.

It all kicks off and ends with Devlin and Watson each getting a yellow card.

  16. 'Rangers on top but Hibs remain a threat'published at 15:42 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Hibernian

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Sport Scotland at Ibrox

It was the perfect opening for Philippe Clement. Abdallah Sima's early goal settled the crowd and provided some welcome positivity to build on.

They've had one or two opportunities to extend that lead but Hibernian remain in the match. They don't look overawed, although a bit exposed at times when Rangers counter.

The home side will be desperate for the buffer of that crucial second.

He sends Will Dennis the wrong way, slotting down to the left.

  18. PENALTY TO LIVINGSTONpublished at 15:35 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Kilmarnock 1-0 Livingston

Craig Napier points to the spot this time as Brad Lyons is a second too late and he catches Mo Sangare on the heel while trying to make a clearance.

    Sean Kelly to step up...

  19. Livi cause for concernpublished at 15:34 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Kilmarnock 1-0 Livingston

The last time Livingston won a game after conceding the opening goal was almost a year ago when they did just that against Killie in early November 2022.

David Martindale's side were 3-2 winners at Rugby Park on that day. Plenty of time yet, Livi fans.

  20. Postpublished at 15:33 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers 1-0 Hibernian

Just seeing a replay of that incident and the ball comes off Joe Newell's knee before striking his arm, hence no penalty.
