  1. 'Three points an absolute must for Rangers today'published at 14:20 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

    Kenny Miller
Former Rangers striker on BBC Scotland Sportsound

I was intrigued to see what kind of team Philippe Clement put out today, if there would be any significant changes.

He is limited in terms of what he can and can’t do in terms of the injuries, so there’s not too much he could have done in terms of forwarded places.

It’s an opportunity for newer guys like Dessers and Lammers to play themselves into the manager’s thoughts because they're clearly there. It’s their job to hang onto that jersey.

It’s a big day for everyone involved with Rangers. Three points is an absolute must.

  2. Polworth & Watkins in for Killie; Devlin returns for Livipublished at 14:17 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Kilmarnock v Livingston (15:00)

It is two switches for Kilmarnock following their defeat at Celtic Park last time out.

Robbie Deas makes way as Liam Polworth comes in for Derek McInnes' side.

Marley Watkins also features in the hosts' starting line-up, replacing Matty Kennedy.

David Martindale also makes two changes to the Livingston XI which started the 2-0 win over Motherwell a fortnight ago.

Captain Michael Devlin returns to the centre of defence while Mo Sangare is into the midfield.

Ayo Obileye drops out the squad completely and Stephen Kelly moves to the bench.

  3. Three Rangers changes; Hanlon makes 550th appearancepublished at 14:14 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

Philippe Clement's first match-day act as Rangers manager is to hand a rare start to winger Scott Wright while restoring Sam Lammers behind the front line and Cyriel Dessers up front.

Kemar Roofe drops to the bench, while Jose Cifuentes misses out with a knock picked up with Ecuador and Zak Lovelace has not recovered from the injury suffered when making his first start last time out in the 3-0 win away to St Mirren.

Striker Danilo and midfielders Todd Cantwell and Ross Jack are back from injury and make the bench.

Nick Montgomery also packs his Hibs starting line-up with attacking intent.

Adam Le Fondre returns up front, while Paul Hanlon makes his 550th Hibs appearance in central defence, with Christian Doidge and Rocky Bushiri dropping to the bench following the 2-2 derby draw with Heart of Midlothian.

David Marshall starts in goal despite being forced off at Tynecastle, with back-up Jojo Wollacott on the bench after his own return to fitness.

  4. Firhill test for leaders Dundee Utdpublished at 14:10 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

Only two games in the second tier as well...

Championship leaders Dundee United visit Partick Thistle, who are just four points behind in third place.

Dunfermline Athletic can jump into the top four if they beat Ayr United at East End Park, but the visitors can overtake the Fifers if they take three points.

Airdrie and Queen's Park shared the points last night.

  7. Clement takes Rangers change 'step by step'published at 14:03 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Rangers v Hibernian (15:00)

New Rangers boss Philippe Clement makes his Ibrox bow today, with Hibernian the visitors.

The Belgian will be aiming to put a dent in Celtic's seven-point lead at the top, with the champions not playing until tomorrow's trip to Tynecastle.

"When you come in during the season you have to analyse what is good and what can be better and then prioritise the most important things to make better this week and the next week because if I try to do everything at one moment I kill the players," he said yesterday.

"So it needs to be step by step. It is about analysing everything, the way I want to implement things."

  8. Fixtures battered by Storm Babetpublished at 14:00 British Summer Time 21 October 2023

    Good afternoon.

We should have been preparing for a busy Saturday after an international break but the bad weather means many teams remain inactive for a bit longer.

As bad luck would have it, three Scottish Premiership games were scheduled in the north east where Storm Babet has been at its strongest.

Some of the pitches are no doubt playable but the emergency services don't want people travelling in these conditions.

The Met Office says the red weather warning in the north east will now be lifted at 18:00. It was previously in place until midnight.

    SPFL postponements

Championship: Arbroath v Raith Rovers, Greenock Morton v Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

League 1: Cove Rangers v Montrose.
