If Everton get this win Sean Dyche will be happier with these three points than he would be with any other win they've had this season, as it shows his side have worked so hard.

Brighton have had most of the possession but created precious little in the way of chances.

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

Everton haven't had a single shot in the second half, not that they need any if they can continue keeping Brighton at arm's length.

  7. 'That's why you leave Mitoma to attack 1 v 1'published at 16:31 Greenwich Mean Time 4 November 2023

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Goodison Park

That is what happens when you leave Mitoma on his own, don't overlap him, don't underlap him. Just leave him one on one.

He goes past the defender like he isn't even there! Gets to the byeline and makes the best chance they have had so far in this second half, if not the game.

    What a goal!

He drives forward and lets fly from around 20-yards out and it's an absolute stunner, ricocheted in off the cross bar.

Wild celebrations from the home side. Can they hold on for their first win of the season?

    Everton 1-0 Brighton

    Pat Nevin
Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live at Goodison Park

Brighton look a bit frustrated out there at the moment.

Normally they are so calm and get on about their business, but they have been knocked out of their stride a little bit by Everton.

It's not like they have been kicked all over the park but they have been thrown off their normal game.

That's not neccesarily a bad thing, they will need to move the ball quicker and be more proactive. I think there will be changes soon.

Sheffield United have been so different to what we have been used to this year. They have really taken this game by the scruff of the neck and are having a real go. That's all the fans want. They are asking questions of Wolves in this second half.
