West Ham started the second half brightly with Riko Ueki having a shot deflected wide and Kirsty Smith seeing her strike tipped over the bar by Zecira Musovic.
For Lionesses fans it would have been great to see Fran Kirby impressing in the first half on her first start since February after knee surgery.
Emma Hayes said she would be careful with her recovery and that's what she has done, taking Kirby off after 56 minutes following an excellent performance.
