You'd love to have 10 Chiedozie Ogbene's on the team because you know exactly what you're going to get. He works his socks off, he plays in different positions. He was man-of-the-match the other night and he says that he thinks his mum is picking him but he's being picked on his performances because he was the key man that night and, yes, it wasn't the result we wanted but he was absolutely brilliant.

France secured their place in Euro 2024 with two games to spare as they recorded their sixth consecutive Group B victory by beating the Netherlands on Friday.

The Republic of Ireland and Gibraltar are unable to qualify automatically for the tournament in Germany, with Greece and the Netherlands battling it out to secure the final automatic qualification spot.

Those two sides meet in Athens this evening. The Republic's slim chance of reaching the Euro 2024 play-offs are complicated but they will be impacted greatly by where the Netherlands finish in the group.

Republic of Ireland boss Stephen Kenny aims to end a disappointing Euro 2024 qualifying campaign on a high, starting with a win over Gibraltar this evening.

Kenny has come under increasing pressure after Friday's home defeat by Greece ended hopes of automatically qualifying for the finals in Germany.

He declined to discuss his future after the disappointing 2-0 home defeat, which was the Republic's fifth in six Group B qualifiers.

"I am contracted to the end of the campaign so I just want to finish it strong," said Kenny on Sunday.

Gibraltar v Republic of Ireland (19:45 BST)

Good evening and welcome to our live text commentary of this evening's Euro 2024 qualifier between Gibraltar and the Republic of Ireland.

It is a dead rubber fixture in Faro in terms of qualification, with both sides now unable to qualify automatically for next year's tournament in Germany.

The Republic of Ireland are in dire need of a win however, following Friday night's disappointing performance in their defeat to Greece, which left them with just one win so far in qualifying, against Gibraltar in June

With Stephen Kenny coming under increasing scrutiny, the Republic will want a comfortable victory this evening to help them get back to winning ways.

Thanks for joining us - enjoy!
