    FT Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

Before we go all in on the 3pm games, here's some more reaction from Liverpool's win at Palace.

The Reds have moved top of the Premier League - for now at least.

Arsenal have the chance to wrestle back pole position when they play at Aston Villa later.

  2. Can Burnley stop Brighton scoring?published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Brighton v Burnley (15:00 GMT)

    Chris Wise
BBC Final Score at Amex Stadium

Burnley’s last clean sheet away from home in the Premier League was here at the Amex Stadium almost two years ago.

The problem for the Clarets is that no team has found a way to stop Brighton from scoring this season.

Even when they concede, they’ve got the capability to just go and stick one in down the other end.

Lewis Dunk’s return from suspension today should give the Seagulls‘ defence a feeling of greater solidity too.

  3. 'Spirit is lacking'published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

Wolves v Nottingham Forest (15:00 GMT)

    Colin Fray
BBC Radio Nottingham on the pressure on Steve Cooper

Steve Cooper won't be talking about himself. He'll be focusing on how to not have what happened at Fulham happen again and how to beat Wolves.

His message to the players will be 'you have to go and win this game for the club and the supporters and make it right'.

They will be aware that their manager needs a performance. They obviously didn't deliver that for him at Fulham and they have another chance at Wolves.

The Fulham performance showed that they are not as together and the spirit is not there at the moment. It might have been there earlier in the season and it might come back again, but at the moment the spirit is lacking.

  4. Will Wilder keep Blades up?published at 14:42 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

Sheff Utd v Brentford (15:00 GMT)

    Rob Staton
    BBC Radio Sheffield

It’s been quite a week at the Lane. Paul Heckingbottom’s departure in the end wasn’t a surprise, a change had been rumoured for weeks.

Life is just more interesting with Chris Wilder around. That’s not a comment on Heckingbottom or any other boss. It’s just a fact that Wilder is great to interview, listen to, and he always has something interesting to say.

His previous United teams have been exciting, all-action and successful. It’ll be intriguing to see if he can get things going again.

  5. Bournemouth's best chance to win at Old Trafford?published at 14:41 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

Man Utd v Bournemouth (15:00 GMT)

    John Bennett
BBC Final Score at Old Trafford

Some of the Bournemouth fans were telling me pre-match that they feel like this could be their best chance to win at Old Trafford for the first time in the club’s history.

You can see why they’re confident, going into today only Arsenal and Liverpool had collected more points over the last six games that Andoni Iraola’s side.

But despite another dramatic week off the pitch, Manchester United are in good form too.

It’s got the makings of an excellent game in very wet and very windy conditions.

The Liverpool fans at Selhurst Park are in fine voice as they jubilantly filter out into the Croydon winter sunshine.

A rather different scene up north, especially in Manchester.

Dank and dismal as fan arrive at Old Trafford. The sort of scene which LS Lowry took inspiration from.

Thank god Alisson is back. Think it might have been a different result otherwise!

That is why you need an outstanding keeper.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 9 December 2023

    Crystal Palace 1-2 Liverpool

Another outstanding save by Alisson to preserve Liverpool's lead!

Michael Olise whips the free-kick into the danger area and Joachim Andersen directs it towards the net only for the keeper to save.

Another pretty poor performance from Liverpool but we now seem to find a way to score when those performances occur.

    Paul

These are the gritty, hard work and lucky wins that win you titles. Arsenal had one at Luton in midweek! It’s going to be one fantastic title race this season and City may not even be in it!

I’m a Liverpool fan but you have to feel sorry for Crystal Palace. I think Roy had set the team up well and but for a very dodgy red card I think they might have held out. Saying that Liverpool do what they do and come from behind to win!

    Andy

Hodgson out. Before it's too late.

Roy Hodgson is slumped in his seat in the dugout. Palace responded well to their midweek defeat but they're going to end up with nothing.

Great skill, great technique from Elliott cutting inside there and getting his reward.

It's going to be tough for Palace now.

    They've snatched it!

Liverpool are on their way to the top of the table after Harvey Elliott finds the net from outside the box.

It's a decent finish but could Remi Matthews have done better?

The Reds fans inside Selhurst Park don't care.
