There is a morale issue and a human issue to take into account too.

The players have just seen someone that they are close to going off for an unknown reason.

Of course we wish the best for Tom Lockyer and there has to be some common sense at times.

Three goals for Newcastle and, following three successive defeats in all competitions, it is going to be three points for Eddie Howe's side as Dan Burn bundles the ball over the line after his header had been parried by Bernd Leno.

Fulham haven't won here in the Premier League since 2009. They won't be doing so today either.

Newcastle will be moving above Manchester United and into sixth.

A lovely moment just now for sub Sven Botman, back in action after a knee injury sustained in September.

A great reception from the fans and high-fives from his team-mates.

    Breaking

    Bournemouth 1-1 Luton

Understandably, referee Simon Hooper has taken the decision to abandon the game at the Vitality Stadium following a collapse by Luton Town captain Tom Lockyer near the centre circle.

The clock was stopped in the 65th minute and players were sent down the tunnel.

Lockyer was given medical attention and treatment on the pitch before being taken off on a stretcher to a round of applause from fans.

He was said to be "alert and responsive in the tunnel".

The game was 1-1 when it ended.

Palace have managed to stay in the game and have now got themselves a goal back.

A long ball over the top, Walker is beaten for pace by Schlupp. Dias is out of possession and a ball across the six-yard box is tapped in from mere yards out by Mateta.

Man City dominant in the game, but Palace have taken their first proper chance. They've hung in there and are back in it, fair play to them.

    Man City 2-1 Crystal Palace

    Neil Lennon
Former Celtic manager on BBC Radio 5 Live

Again, City haven't kept a clean sheet. I think that goal could have been avoided and I don't know if that was from a bit of malaise that set in.

It is something that could have been avoided and he will be really frustrated, Pep Guardiola.

We're still awaiting a decision at the Vitality Stadium on whether play will resume.

It would be incredibly tough on all the players - particularly Tom Lockyer's Luton team-mates.

The clock was stopped in the 65th minute and players have been in the changing rooms since then.
