There is going to be a period of adjustment because it is a higher standard. It is great to see and it's clear the club likes the way Vincent Kompany works. I think the club deserves credit for sticking by him and seeing where they go.
I think it deserves credit.

Chelsea
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, speaking to BBC Match of the Day: "I’m very pleased. The performance was good. It’s always good against a team who play aggressively with a low block.
"In the second half we changed the position of Palmer and Raheem Sterling, we tried to put Palmer and Mudryk in a better position in front of goal.
"I’m confident, even when we lose. I really believe in the players and the club. Now it’s about to use that in the next competition in the quarter-final of the Carabao Cup."
On Cole Palmer: "For me he’s a playmaker, a player who can link the team. He’s also a player with the capacity to score goals and give assists. The contribution of Cole Palmer from day one has been massive."
On Christopher Nkunku: "We didn’t want to take a risk with him and give him more time for his recovery."

Crystal Palace
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Dean Henderson speaking after the match: "I think it was an unbelievable result. Obviously to get a draw is fantastic. I loved every minute of it being back on the pitch. I think it’s been nearly a year since I last played so I’m delighted.
On the equalising penalty: "I was nervous. Michael Olise went the other way yesterday in training against me. I’m happy he switched it up and sent Ederson the wrong way.
On Crystal Palace's performance: "Manchester City are a world class team and you’ve just got to try to stay in the game as long as you can and hopefully catch them on the break which we did. We stuck to the game plan. The manager was unbelievable with the messages through the week. The boys deserve all the credit because it’s hard work against them.
"We’re all pulling in the right direction. There’s a great team spirit here. Obviously we’ve got injuries but people are filling in holes and the young lads are coming off the bench. Every one to a man was unbelievable today.
On returning to the pitch after injury: "It’s been emotional but I’m delighted to be back."

Burnley have been boosted by the return of striker Lyle Foster, who is on the bench having been on a period of leave because of a mental health issue.
The South Africa international last played for the Clarets in the 3-0 defeat at Brentford on 21 October.
It's an interesting selection because I asked manager Vincent Kompany on Thursday when Foster could return to the team and the Belgian said there was "no timescale" on it.
He added: "Lyle is making progress. We are still following it closely and he is still receiving treatment, but we have been fortunate that we have been able to work on the fitness side with him.
"His progress is what you would want it to be in terms of his mental health and physically he is in a good place as well."
Bournemouth 1-1 Luton (match abandoned)

We mustn't forget, this is the second incident now. The first incident was in the play-off final and there was real concern when Tom collapsed. Of course, Luton were promoted and Tom had a procedure later on in the summer. This afternoon has been a bit of a whirlwind. Rob Edwards was very emotional. You could see it in his face. He took the love from all four sides of the ground. The way Bournemouth fans dealt with the situation is very credible.
Again I can't stress how much we are thinking of Tom Lockyer. A fantastic captain, a Wales international defender and a fantastic human being. Our thoughts, prayers and all our love is with him and his family tonight.
Luton Town have released a statement regarding the condition of captain Tom Lockyer, who collapsed before play was abandoned against Bournemouth. The statement reads, external:
"We all hope and pray for our leader and captain Tom Lockyer, who is thankfully responsive and has been taken to hospital.
"We don’t know the full extent of what happened and what the next steps are at this stage, but we thank Bournemouth and the medical staff on both sides for their immediate response, which was absolutely amazing.
"We are sorry to all supporters present that players from both sides were in no state of mind to continue with the game after seeing their much-loved team-mate and friend taken off like that, and staff could not carry on with managing the game in such circumstances having had to deal with the situation.
"We thank everyone for the wonderful applause and singing of Locks’ name inside the stadium at such a difficult time. Now is the time for all of our players, staff and supporters to come together as we always do and give our love and support to Tom and his family.
"Our thoughts are with him and them all."

Newcastle's Lewis Miley on his first goal: "What a moment it was for me and my family. They were in the stand. Great feeling to see the ball in the back of the net.
"Hopefully I can score lots more.
"I haven't checked my phone yet but I'm sure everyone will be buzzing for us.
Bruno Guimaraes: "Sometimes I can't believe he's 17. He's unbelievable. We're very proud of him."

Sean Dyche did a great job at Burnley, as he's doing a great job at Everton now.
There is a bit of senitment for him and a few players, Dwight McNeil, James Tarkowski going back to Turf Moor today,
It is never easy going back to a former club, and Everton's away form has been excellent this season, so they need to keep that positive momentum going.

Thanks Em.
Sean Dyche has said he isn't one for sentimentality as he returns to Burnley tonight and he will be very much focused on moving Everton further up the table.
They currently sit just above the relegation zone, with Burnley second bottom and five points behind the Toffees.

Christmas songs at St James' Park and Newcastle were always going to win this one after Raul Jimenez's reckless and dangerous challenge in the 22nd minute saw him red carded.
That's now seven home league wins in a row for Newcastle and eight successive league games without a victory on the road for Fulham.
Lewis Miley became Newcastle's youngest ever Premier League goalscorer to finally make the breakthrough, with Miguel Almiron and Dan Burn adding the other two.
Callum Wilson hit the post in added time as Newcastle moved up to sixth, above Manchester United, who play at leaders Liverpool tomorrow.
Newcastle are out of Europe, but will be hoping this result, their first win after three losses in all competitions, can kickstart another push for European football next season.

There are boos ringing round the stadium and I can understand it. Palace didn't have any form coming into the game and they got two chances and took them.
There has been a little bit of a flatness here [at the Etihad Stadium] in recent weeks, and they didn't put them away.

Palace could win it!
They attack down the left and there's options in the box. It's crossed in low and trickles dangerously across the six-yard area but it's just inches behind everyone.

There is no doubt it is a penalty. Foden has tried to lash the ball away and Mateta has beaten him to it.
This is football for you. Incredible. Team gets a goal back and hang in there. City get complacent and when the game is in the balance, Palace get a chance to get the most unlikely point of the season.
Wow. You never saw this coming but it is incredible. Fair play to the resilience of the Palace players for hanging in there.
Pep Guardiola is bereft. If you don't put teams away, no matter the level, you can sense it sometimes.
Newcastle 3-0 Fulham
Callum Wilson strikes the post. Newcastle could easily have scored more.
