Burnley manager Vincent Kompany speaking to Sky Sports after the loss against Everton: "There's not much to assess. The game can be played in a certain way but the result they gained in both boxes. Two set-plays got them their goals and then there are moments when the ball is cleared off the line and hits the crossbar and I don't think we get to feel sorry for ourselves and the game gets played in both boxes and that's where we have lacked today."
On the fight against relegation: "You've got to get through it. It is part of how you become a professional footballer and hopefully, for some, a top-level professional football. I don't think you get to feel sorry for yourself. I don't expect fighting for survival to be easy. I think you expect moments like this. Unless you get both boxes better than opponent, you get very little comfort from it."
On Lyle Foster's return: "Lyle had maximum 30-40 minutes in him but and we need more of what he has given us. The signs were promising from him."
How do you get out of this? "Fight. You have to. You have to embrace it.
"It's a way of being. Other people can be different. It is not easy for everyone but I grew up like this and I am the last person to go home now and think negative things. For me, everything is possible. We are in games, but we have to be the best in both boxes now."

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to Sky Sports:
On the half time sub: "He's [Doucoure] got a tight hamstring but we are struggling for numbers so it was not a risk we could take. We are hopeful it is nothing too major but you never know, so we had to change it.
"I am pleased for Dobbo [Dobbin] who came on and played another half of Premier League football and has done very well.
"We are waiting on that [Mykolenko injury]. At the moment we are piecing together different parts of the pitch but that is how it is sometimes.
"The players are giving everything. Things that managers look for, there were so many good performances today, not neccesarily things fans look for, but I saw things managers want to see today.
On the fans' support today: "They have had knock [with the points deduction] and really felt it. But they have come here and shown exactly who they are. They have looked after the club for many years and they are happy with what they are seeing. They are seeing people give everything, and if you have a team that does that as a fan, that is a great start. If you can add quality and consistency and all the rest of it that is great, but the underbelly has to be there and I think it is."

Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to Sky Sports:
On togetherness and consistency of the squad: "We are building a team ethic and a team respect and that is getting deeper and deeper. The link with the fans is real and getting more and more authentic. I always believed when I was a player and now as a manager you need that link with the fans to be successful.
"I am pleased that I have stuck to task with that [building a relationship with the fans] because there is a lot of noise around football. You get told you should be doing this and that, but I believed in what I can deliver with the players, but it is more important that they believe.
"These are good habits, bigger picture things that I believed needed changing and we are making steps towards changing them."

Goals win games, but so do moments like Ben Godfrey's tackle. As important as any moment in getting us the win today. Up the Toffees
Dom, Liverpool
I don't think Kompany deserves to keep his job. Everton started on the same pedestal as Burnley, got points deducted and started afresh, with Burnley getting a headstart. Look at the gulf between the two teams today, and look at their league positions. Surely, Kompany needs to vacate his role. He is not fit to take Burnley forward.

More from Everton defender James Tarkowski speaking to Sky Sports after the win over Burnley: "We know we were a threat against any team. We played these in the cup a few months ago and were good in the set-pieces. We are land of the giants, especially when we brought Keano and Ben Godfrey in and Onana who can leap like a basketballer. You see that with the goal how powerful he is. That's the same in every game no just this one."
On his own form: "I am at the age when most players, especially in my position, reach their peak. I have learnt all my mistakes and I am at the age now when I understand the game - especially under this manager. I just want to be consistent for as long as I can and keep what I'm doing."
On the team's form: "It's been big. We have had a tough couple of seasons. It's a really unified group here. We have Seamus Coleman who is a big leader and character - I've not seen anything like him - and I am just supporting him. There are loads of leaders to mention. It is a real group game and I think today showed that with the lads who came in.
"We've got a good understanding of what we are doing. The lads are understanding us and what to expect and we just want to make it difficult for teams. We are powerful and quick and we want to play to our strengths. You have seen that when we are now picking up wins.
"Every team is the same. Depleted on numbers, It is an opportunity for players to come in and play like they did. There will be some lads coming back next week hopefully and we will try and win again and progress in the cup."

Everton defender James Tarkowski speaking to Sky Sports after the win over Burnley: "I think today is a great sign to be honest. A few players missed out, we played a different formation and we knew we just had to be workman-like and that's what we did. We were big and powerful on set-pieces and we got the two goals from it and worked as a team throughout the game and got that clean sheet and the win."
On the 10-point deduction galvanising the team: "I think it's definitely unified everyone at the club - the players, the staff, the fans, but before the deduction we were playing well and winning games and we wanted to keep building on that and getting wins."
On moving to a five-at-the-back formation: "I think ideally we would have stuck with a four with the way we were playing but we lost three of the back-four through injuries and suspensions and we had to deal with it. Fair play to the lads for working hard and they got the reward for it. Fair play to Lewis Dobbin, Ben [Godfrey] and Keano [Michael Keane], they got their rewards. I think Ben Godfrey was terrific at centre-half."

Burnley boss Vincent Kompany, speaking to MOTD: "It is never a problem of not fighting. Today we were undone in both boxes.
"You can talk about everything in-between but in reality you have to be best in both boxes to win football matches and that wasn't the case today.
"Conceding on two set plays is extremely frustrating. Obviously you can call it last-ditch tackles and moments when the other team defends really well but the reality is we have to put chances away. That is the reality of the fight for us.
"The first half was not the level we have had recently. The second half was good and we created chances. If we were not creating anything I'd be more worried."
On fans still behind him and players: "This place is different. I can't explain why, it just is. The key is for us to every single time to repay these fans, and we do that by giving everything we have."
On Lyle Foster's return: "Lyle gave us something else. The second half was overall a good performance. We just have to put the ball in the back of the net now."

Everton
Everton boss Sean Dyche speaking to Sky Sports: "I had a fantastic time here at Burnley, on and off the pitch, and got to know so many people. I thank the club for their warm reception but at the end of the day it's moved on, I have moved on and that's it, it get's parked.
"I am the Everton manager now and I and my staff are working very hard to do well for Everton.
On wiping out the points deduction: "Yes very pleased with that. The players were outstanding today, particularly second half. The way they are going about things at the minute... We had to change our shape last minute and had no time to prep it, and we took the game in a very controlled tactical manner.
"Some of the people walking into the side today, they have trained so well, looked after themselves, and they have come in today and delivered a performance."

They have been through so much off the field, the Evertonians, and what they have always had is a togetherness. They have been through thin and even thinner to be honest, in recent times. But what Sean Dyche has done and galvanised them. They deserve a bit of success. That 10-point deduction - wiped away. And they are potentially getting some of those points back and if you gave them those points back now, they are above Brighton. They are challenging for European football!

Everton boss Sean Dyche, speaking to MOTD: "We had to piece the team together without any work yesterday.
"They have delivered very well today what I have asked of them and got a good win.
"The players are open minded to the challenge. We want the mentality to be open and it is growing here.
"The players don't question anything. We are not the real deal but that is when you are onto something.
"I commend the players on their professioanlism. I tell them when their time comes they have to perform and they did that today.
"We have played better with the ball but sometimes it is about understanding when to win the game. Burnley tried to find different ways of playing but we stuck to task, contained the 2-0 and that is important over a season.
"The players deserve massive amount the credit, the fans as well. They are getting a team that will give everything."

Everton goalscorer and Player of the Match Michael Keane speaking to Sky Sports: "It is always a tough place to come to. A few changes in our team today but it goes to show the effort we put into training every day pays off in performances like that, even when we do make changes. So it is a credit to the staff, to the players and I thought we fully deserved the win.
On his goal: "It is nice to score. I always fancy myself when I get in those situations. Just to get a game is nice. Jarrad [Branthwaite] has been brilliant, unfortunately for him he got suspended. But you've got to take these opportunities when they come.
"I've made sure I kept as fit as possible, was a bit shattered at the end there, but gave myself a good chance to play when the chance came. So I am happy.
On wiping out the points deduction with the win: "That's four wins in a row now and that just shows how the whole club has come together. Everton always does. In the last three years good times and bad times, we come together and make it difficult for us to play against. It is nice to be able to give the fans these moments in the last few weeks, it's been brilliant.
On the extra motivation from the adversity: "Definitely but I think something has clicked in the last month or two. We work so hard for each other and have so much quality. The way the manager sets us up it is getting us results and with that comes belief. The club is going in the right direction.
On a big week ahead: "It is a big period for us, a huge game in the week in the cup, it would be massive to get to a semi final, then some other big games after that. So a huge week ahead for us but we are looking forward to it."

Incredible. You look at the fixtures they have had and the togetherness of this side. They are not just sneaking results.
They are keeping clean sheets. They have beaten Newcastle, they have beaten Chelsea, they are scoring goals. It's not pretty at times. They play a certain way. They are very effective at what they do. They are a hard-working team and battle so hard for second balls.

Everton's Amadou Onana: "This is very, very important. The mentality of the team has changed and four wins in a row, very special.

They have seen this type of relegation battle before, but they have seen a different team in this relegation battle before. They have seen a Sean Dyche team. A team that believe in themselves and work hard and play a different type of football.
When you are inferior to your opponents, you have to affect them and make it hard for your opponents. Burnley are too easy. They don't offer enough going forward. The lowest a team has stayed up with at this point in the season is nine points and yet another game ticks away from them.

Burnley have lost eight of their nine Premier League home games this season (W1) – it’s already as many defeats as they suffered at Turf Moor in their last top-flight campaign in 2021-22 (W5 D6 L8).

Burnley's Dara O'Shea: "Bitterly disappointed. We go into each game wanting to win and with the current situation we need the points. Being at home today we saw it as an opportunity. We conceded two poor set pieces.
"Disappointed but we have to look to next weekend now.
"There is a real positivity still there. We are playing good football, maybe we just need to get better in both boxes."

Turf Moor is not what it used to be under Sean Dyche.
Everton have come here and done a job on Burnley. The way that they battle for second balls and work for each other. That's what Burnley used to do here and that's what kept them in the Premier League.
And home form is key and they have been no where near it at Turf Moor and especially on the road. It's going to be a long season for them.

All over! Another win for Everton as they go seven points clear of danger.
Burnley, meanwhile, are six points from safety.
