    Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

Bournemouth have just had one penalty and want another one as Justin Kluivert goes down. Loud roars from the home fans but Antonee Robinson's challenge goes unpunished.

  2. goal

GOAL - Sheff Utd 2-1 Lutonpublished at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Anel Ahmedhodzic

The Blades have turned it around!

Luton initially do really well to scramble the ball off the line but don't clear it far enough and Anel Ahmedhodzic pounces to prod in.

This has been an excellent second-half display by Sheffield United and they are deservedly ahead.

It is going to be checked by VAR, however...

  3. 'Luton have done nothing wrong'published at 16:27 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Luton

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on Final Score

Olie McBurnie is, I imagine, an absolute nuisance to play against. He is always in the defender's faces, is always being very physical.

He just takes a touch and finishes it. It's really well done.

Luton have done nothing wrong in this game, they've tried to win it, but Sheffield United aren’t going away. It’s a Chris Wilder type of performance.

  4. 'A needless and clumsy challenge from Palhinha'published at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

    Francis Benali
Former Southampton defender on BBC Radio 5 live

No need for Joao Palhinha to make the challenge, he could have stayed on his feet. Antione Semenyo was going away from goal, so he just needed to keep moving him away.

Instead a clumsy tackle which has cost his team another goal, a huge mountain for Fulham to climb now.

  5. Postpublished at 16:25 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

That takes Dominic Solanke's tally to 12 in the Premier League this season. Only a certain Erling Haaland, on 14, has more.

Five of those Solanke goals have been in the past three goals.

  6. 'Should be three points for Bournemouth'published at 16:24 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

    Kevin Campbell
Former Everton striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

No doubting Dominic Solanke. Sometimes that’s striker’s luck – he didn’t get many opportunities but now he’s got a penalty and his name is on the scoresheet.

It should be three points for Bournemouth.

  7. Postpublished at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 2-0 Fulham

That was Bournemouth's first penalty in 609 days, the club's X account has just informed the world.

  8. 'McBurnie does what he does at Bramall Lane'published at 16:23 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Luton

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

The first bit of quality that we have seen from Sheffield United so far today.

James McAtee runs at the heart of the Luton defence, the referee is lucky because he is fouled and looks to hide behind VAR. Looked like a stonewall penalty, but he is lucky that a goal comes not long after.

The ball squirms out to McBurnie, who does what he does playing at home, in fantastic form here, that is another for him.

    Sheff Utd 1-1 Luton

Credit Chris Wilder because his tactical switch at half time has paid off. He added Max Lowe to strengthen Sheffield United's left and Luton haven't been able to get dangerous attacks down there anymore.

  10. goal

GOAL - Bournemouth 2-0 Fulhampublished at 62 mins

    Dominic Solanke (penalty)

Dominic Solanke calmly slots the penalty into the bottom right corner, Bernd Leno dives the wrong way and the hosts double their advantage.

  11. goal

GOAL - Sheff Utd 1-1 Lutonpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Oli McBurnie (61 mins)

    The pressure has told!

Referee Sam Allison plays a smart advantage as James McAtee appears to be fouled. The loose ball spills out to Oli McBurnie, who takes a touch before firing into the back of the net.

The home crowd go wild and we are all square in this crucial battle at the bottom.

  12. PENALTY to Bournemouthpublished at 16:19 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 1-0 Fulham

Massively clumsy from Joao Palhinha as he bundles into the back of Antoine Semenyo and it is a clear penalty and a great chance for 2-0.

Keeper Bernd Leno talks himself into a booking as Dominic Solanke waits to take it.

  13. 'Luton not sitting back on their lead'published at 16:18 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Luton

    Paul Robinson
Former Tottenham and England goalkeeper on BBC Radio 5 Live

Luton can't afford to sit back and protect their lead, and they are not doing that either. They're pressing high with Andros Townsend and Elijah Adebayo is providing an outball. They are looking good in possession.

Sheffield United, you can never trust them in defence. As much as they are pushing forward, which they are doing, they are leaving gaps in behind which Luton are exploiting.

  14. Postpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 1-0 Fulham

Fulham win a free-kick from 35 yards out and Andreas Pereira hugely optimistically goes for goal. He slips as he strikes it too with the ball bouncing harmlessly into Neto's hands. Waste.

  15. Postpublished at 16:17 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Luton

Andros Townsend fancies his chances from distance and he strikes the ball well enough but Wes Foderingham has it covered.

Luton have been playing really well of late but Sheffield United are really banging on the door today. They just lack that something in the final third.

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Luton

    Dion Dublin
Former England striker on Final Score

Sheffield United will score at some stage. They've been positive in the second half.

They are probing and starting to get those chances they didn’t get in the first half.

  18. Postpublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Luton

Sheffield United have had 12 shots on goal but just one on target so far - that's where they need to improve. They are getting into shooting positions but are not clinical enough.

  19. 'Directness and positivity about Bournemouth'published at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Bournemouth 1-0 Fulham

    Francis Benali
Former Southampton defender on BBC Radio 5 live

Bournemouth went in at the break 1-0 up and they could have had more with a bit of luck. They have looked bright and threatening whenever they attack.

That is what they have in this team. There is a directness and positivity to them and rightly so given the form they are in.

For Fulham, although they have started the second half well with plenty of possession, they have only won one league game away from home this season, so the stats aren't looking good for them.

  20. Postpublished at 16:13 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Sheff Utd 0-1 Luton

There does seem a determination from the Luton players to unsettle Wes Foderingham in the Sheffield United goal, and Andros Townsend is penalised for trying to block him taking a goal kick.
