We've just heard the roar from the Bramall Lane Kop for the first time and what a noise. After a quiet start the Blades have to life with Oli McBurnie heading onto the roof of the net after Gustavo Hamer's attempt was deflected behind.

As expected, it's a tense and nervy start with so much at stake.

Bournemouth have a real job on their hands in January trying to hold on to Dominic Solanke. I really feel he has found his feet at Premier League level.

His apprenticeship behind the likes of Mo Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane at Liverpool, and then Diego Costa at Chelsea - there is a reason why he was at those clubs to begin with.

The biggest benefit for him was moving to Bournemouth and getting relegated to the Championship because he learned to score goals in men's professional football. He has now found his feet at the top level, he feels like he believes he is good enough to score goals in the Premier League now.

Approaching the 15 minute mark and this is developing into a good contest.

Luton are dominating possession but Sheffield United have had all the attempts on goal.

Luton have started well but it is Sheffield United who have the first shots on goal, Vinicius Souza's drive from distance is blocked before Gustavo Hamer's effort is deflected behind.

The Blades' first corner ends with Oli McBurnie heading over.

A chance for in-form Bournemouth striker Dominic Solanke. He's fed by Justin Kluivert but the shot bounces away for a corner off of Tosin Adarabioyo but the set-piece comes to nothing.

Bournemouth have earned seven points from their last three Premier League home games (won two, drawn one), two more than they had in their previous 10 at the Vitality Stadium (won one, drawn two, lost seven). They’ve scored six goals in these three games, just one fewer than in the previous 10 combined.

Meanwhile, Fulham are winless in their last eight Premier League away games (drawn three, lost five) since beating Everton 1-0 on the opening weekend.

Luton appear to have settled the better of the two sides as they attack again. This time the ball is worked into the left side of the box for Elijah Adebayo, who tries to push the ball past a defender but can't then keep it in play.

Bournemouth's first look at goal ends with away keeper Bernd Leno doing well to take a cross under pressure with Justin Kluivert looking to grab any chance.

Good defending at the back post from Bournemouth's makeshift left-back Dango Ouattara as he gets his head to the ball just as Bobby De Cordova-Reid was just about to connect with Alex Iwobi's lofted cross.

Luton win the game's first corner and that prompts a big roar from the away end. The ball is sent into the box but Sheffield United are able to clear the danger.

It will be interesting to see how both sides approach this game - do you go for the win and get into the driving seat for escaping the bottom three or play low risk football to avoid getting cut further adrift?

So far, it is hard to tell what approach either side are taking.

Fulham have lost their last three Premier League away games, going down 3-1 at Aston Villa, 4-3 at Liverpool and 3-0 at Newcastle. They’ve not lost four consecutive away league games while conceding three or more goals each time since March 1969.

Newcastle United

Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, speaking to Amazon Prime: "It was a difficult afternoon. We didn't deal with the transitions very well. In that first half we could have made it 2-0 but we were made to pay for it."

On drop off: "I don't think there's one reason. I think it's a whole combination of things as to why we've not been at our best."

On performance: "I don't think we were far away today. We need to train properly for perhaps the first time in months."

On added pressure: "A team not playing at their best, you have to self-reflect. We don't have more pressure than usual."

One game down, another two getting going now, with one at 17:30 GMT and another at 20:00 GMT.

It's a Boxing Day full of Premier League football.

A word, too, for the Luton fans who have travelled in their thousands. They're certainly adding to the noise.

Newcastle United

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, speaking to MOTD: "Our first half performance was pretty good. Second half was difficult, we didn't play particularly well.

"We were probably close to making it 2-0 then we get caught and they score.

"Newcastle were always in the game. They had pace and physicality. We pride ourselves in defending those situations better and for whatever reason that wasn't there today.

"I am already analysing what happened today and as always we look to improve. Hopefully we get some training time now."

Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood, speaking to Amazon Prime: "It's fantastic and what we deserved. We played well today, the boys were on fire. It was nice. I'm just happy to stick them away. That's what I'm here to do and I'm just happy I could.

"It's nice to score goals and get three points. We need to continue to do it. We need more goals and more three points."

Newcastle United

Newcastle captain Kieran Trippier, speaking to Amazon Prime: "We were in control in the first half, but it was the transitions that we'd spoken about. They have some very quick players and that's where they hurt us."

Conceded on stroke of half-time: "We were always in control. They have some very good players on the transition. The most important thing is we regroup and stick together. We have to start the second half of the season strong."

On slipping standards: "We have been playing two games a week, week after week and some players aren't used to that. My standards have dropped. I'm old enough to speak about myself and my standards have been nowhere near. I've faced enough set backs in my career to know I can bounce back."
