  1. 'Leeds destroyed them'published at 13:22 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2023

    HT: Leeds 3-0 Ipswich

    Aidy White
    Former Leeds United full-back

There have been second halves that have been a bit dull, can Leeds replicate their first half?

I wouldn't want to be an Ipswich player at half-time. I don't know Kieran McKenna, but I'm sure they will get shouted out.

Leeds destroyed them. It's a pure statement, you can't fault anybody out there.

It looks like being a white Christmas in West Yorkshire.

Pascal Struijk headed the home side into an early lead before Leif Davis' own goal made things even better for the third-placed side.

Ipswich looked to be regathering some composure before the break but the lively Crysencio Summerville was brought down in the area by Davis and then thumped home the penalty.

Leeds look like they'll be cutting the gap to Town to seven points.

  3. Postpublished at 13:18 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2023

    Leeds 3-0 Ipswich

We're into three minutes of time added on at the end of the first half.

I could well be wrong but I think that Crysencio Summerville goal has put this one to bed already...

  4. 'Great composure'published at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2023

    Leeds 3-0 Ipswich

    Aidy White
    Former Leeds United full-back

Daniel Farke is appealing that it should have been a sending off [for Leif Davis].

Great composure from Crysencio Summervile, it doesn't matter even if the keeper does go the right way, it's high into the top corner.

    Never. In. Doubt.

Flying Dutchman Crysencio Sumerville sends his penalty into the top corner.

What a half this has been for Leeds!

  6. PENALTY LEEDSpublished at 44 mins

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

Crysencio Summerville is felled in the area and Leeds have a penalty!

The Dutchman is just too good for Leif Davis, maybe too good for this league really, and he's hacked down.

  7. Ipswich look unlikely to score before breakpublished at 13:13 Greenwich Mean Time 23 December 2023

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

    Alex Mathie
Ex-Ipswich Town striker on BBC Radio Suffolk

It would be good for Ipswich to get back into the game before half-time, I don't think it's going to happen though.

Four goals for the season for Leeds skipper Pascal Struijk now after he got the home side's first today.

Always a good sign when your defenders are chipping in with goals.

Probably also quite a good sign when you're 2-0 up against the team who are in second place after 40 minutes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

  9. Postpublished at 38 mins

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

There's a few disgruntled Ipswich faces out there, this is a team who are not used to being behind.

It's been hard going so far for the away side.

They just need to make sure this doesn't get worse before the break.

  10. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

Leeds winger Dan James is next in the book.

Leif Davis runs by him on the halfway line and the Welshman bundles him over.

It's been a tough opening 35 minutes for the second-placed visitors so far.

  12. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

Just to remind you, and myself really.

Ipswich will still end the day seven points clear of third-placed Leeds if this ends as it is.

However, Town host league leaders Leicester on Boxing Day.

A win for the Whites would put the cat amongst the pigeons.

  13. YELLOW CARDpublished at 29 mins

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

Ipswich right-back Harry Clarke is in the book for handling 40 yards out.

Could be a long 60 minutes for the full-back on a booking up against the livewire Crysencio Summerville.

    Brilliant technique.

    Leeds 2-0 Ipswich

    Alex Mathie

A soft one to give away.

Summerville is so exciting going forward, he got it at the halfway line and just went through the gears.

I don't know what Davis was doing there.

    Leeds are flying!

Wonderful, wonderful play from home forward Crysencio Summerville.

The young Dutchman speeds by two Ipswich defenders on the outside as they hustle back after Leeds win the ball back 30 yards from their own goal.

Summerville hits a tempting low cross across the face of goal and Leif Davis, formerly of Leeds, thinks it's getting cleared by his colleague in front of him.

It's not and it hits him on the shin and goes in.

    Leeds 1-0 Ipswich

The away side go close for the first time.

Nathan Broadhead thumps a shot across goal and past the post after a nice spell of possession from Ipswich.

It's been almost all Leeds so far but Ipswich are second in the table for a reason.

  18. Postpublished at 20 mins

    Leeds 1-0 Ipswich

    Rinse and repeat.

Once again Leeds threaten down their right through Dan James.

He bursts away and clips in a cross but this time Axel Tuanzebe gets up well to head it away.

Moments later James cuts in and curls a tempting cross in from deeper but it's fielded by Vaclav Hladky in the Town goal.

I think it was the right option to shoot, but it was not executed well.

It's a miskick, he has just tried smashing it.

  20. Postpublished at 14 mins

    Leeds 1-0 Ipswich

    Leeds are purring just now.

Another rapid attack sees them in on goal.

Dan James, who is in great goalscoring form, decides to go alone and slashes his shot into the stand.

Maybe should have got his head up to look for a team-mate on that occasion.
