  1. Thankyou and goodnight....published at 22:13 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    FT: Rotherham 2-2 Ipswich

Phew. Just another quiet night in the craziest division in world football.

Ipswich keep their unbeaten run going but they will feel like they've lost, given the manner of the late equaliser from battling Rotherham.

Elsewhere, in League One Wigan toppled high-flying Peterborough, Bolton took advantage with a 2-0 win over Shrewsbury to go joint-second while Reading and managerless Bristol Rovers shared the spolls.

Colchester are on the winning trail in League Two, heaping more woe on Swindon.

Thanks for your company this evening, thankfully you don't have too long to wait for your next fix of EFL action, we're back on Friday night for a wonderful fixture between two grand old clubs as Blackburn host Preston.

    See you then...

  2. Rotherham draw 'feels like a loss' for Ipswichpublished at 22:05 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    FT: Rotherham 2-2 Ipswich

    Alex Mathie
Ex-Ipswich Town striker on BBC Radio Suffolk

It feels like a loss, the player's body language certainly suggested that. They got the goal, and Rotherham didn't look like scoring at all, the goalkeeper didn't have a save to make all game.

At the start of the season, the aim was to draw the away games and win the home games.

I just thought tonight that Ipswich would win the game. I cannot believe Rotherham scored - they caused Town no problems at all.

In the third and final League One game of the night it's ended with the spoils shared between Reading and Bristol Rovers.

Sam Smith's first goal since rejoining his boyhood side gave the Royals a half-time lead before Chris Martin equalised for the Gas shortly before the hour.

Reading stay bottom of the league but at least ended a five-game losing run which had been their longest losing streak in the third tier of English football since May 1991 (also five).

They have no win in seven now mind.

The draw moves Bristol Rovers up three places to 12th and they remain unbeaten since the sacking of Joey Barton.

  4. 'Rotherham should be proud'published at 22:03 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    FT: Rotherham 2-2 Ipswich

    Ronnie Moore
Ex-Rotherham manager on BBC Radio Sheffield

I think a draw was a fair result and the least Rotherham deserved.

I am proud of them and what I have seen tonight, it's night and day compared to what we saw against Sheffield Wednesday.

What a finish from Chris Tiehi - he should have been man of the match for that alone.

  5. FULL-TIMEpublished at 21:57 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    Rotherham 2-2 Ipswich

A great advert for the Championship. There are no easy games, remember!

A pulsating match bookended by supreme quality at either end.

Sam Nombe slid the opener on four minutes but Sam Morsy's gorgeous curler made it 1-1 on 19 minutes.

George Hirst saw appeals for a penalty for the visitors turned down but it looked moot when Jack Taylor's fortunate deflection trickled over the line two minutes from time.

There was still time for Rotherham to snatch a point with Christ Tiehi's wonderful finish in stoppage-time.

Ipswich remain second and unbeaten on the road but are three points behind leaders Leicester.

Rotherham remain in the drop zone but will take plenty from their brave performance and are only four points adrift of safety.

That was Christ Tiehi's first Rotherham goal, just like Sam Nombe earlier. He won't score a better one, but will there be a more important one?

    Deep into six additional minutes.

    Christ Tiehi

WOW. A blockbuster finish from the edge of the box might have just salvaged a point for the hosts.

The ball breaks to Christ Tiehi after a spot of head tennis in the box and Tiehi wraps his foot around it and sends it into Vaclav Hladky's top left corner.

    A stunning finish.

    New York Stadium is rocking.

  8. League Two resultpublished at 21:51 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

Colchester earn a third league win in a row for the fist time since January 2022 courtesy of a fine comeback win against Swindon.

The Robins led 1-0 at half-time through Jake Young as they tried to put the FA Cup embarrassment of a heavy defeat to Aldershot behind them.

But Liam Kinsella's own goal early in the second half levelled it up before Samson Tovide put Colchester in front, and Noah Chilvers added a late third to help his side move up to 18th.

Swindon are in a bad run of form at the moment and defeat means they miss the chance to go into the play-off spots.

  9. League One full-time headlinespublished at 21:50 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    Jack Taylor

So unlucky. One of the ugliest goals you'll see.

Ipswich might have won it in the dying minutes.

Rotherham fail to clear their lines, Leif Davis drills back into the middle at the far post, Oli Rathbone tries to hack clear but the ball hits Jack Taylor, bounces into the prone keeper Viktor Johansson and trickles agonisingly over the line.

    Cruel sport, this.

  11. GREAT SAVE!published at 82 mins

    Rotherham 1-1 Ipswich

Vaclav Hladky has been a spectator for most of the second half but he's there when he's needed.

The ball pinballs around the Town area and drops to Georgie Kelly, so often the Millers hero, but Hladky flies off his line and dives at his feet to produce a crucial block with his legs.

  13. Postpublished at 80 mins

    Rotherham 1-1 Ipswich

Conor Chaplin is getting closer. it needs a superb intervention from Hakeem Odofin to prevent him connecting cleanly with a volley from a hooked cross from the right from Omari Hutchinson.

  14. PENALTY APPEALpublished at 77 mins

    Rotherham 1-1 Ipswich

The free-kick turns into a couple of corners and from the second Axel Tuanzebe stoops to head against Georgie Kelly.

The appeals for handball are loud but mainly from the stand and the referee is not interested. Big dismissive wave from Graham Scott. Left nobody in doubt.

Looks like it struck his hand but infront of his face. Thankfully no VAR to delay our bedtimes tonight.

Another snapshot from Conor Chaplin from the left of the area flies high over the target.

Maybe a foot or two closer than his last effort. At this rate another four or five tries and he'll eventually find the target.

  18. League One latestpublished at 21:33 Greenwich Mean Time 7 November 2023

    What a strike!

Wigan are back in front and it's the sub Callum McManaman who fires a powerful strike past Nicholas Bilokapic when Peterborough can only clear a corner to the edge of the box.

He hadn't been on long but has made a potentially match-winning impact!

  19. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 68 mins

Freddie Ladapo, former Millers man, is on for Ipswich to a chorus of boos along with Omari Hutchinson and Jack Taylor.

Kayden Jackson, Mass Luongo and George Hirst make way.

  20. CLOSE!published at 66 mins

    Rotherham 1-1 Ipswich

Sean Morrison has his head in his hands. Rotherham send a deep free-kick into the box, the ball is nodded back into the middle where Jordan Hugill heads on but Morrison can only steer a free header the wrong side of the upright. Big chance.
