  1. goal

GOAL Celtic 2-0 Aberdeenpublished at 16 mins

    Kyogo Furuhashi

Oh, that's a lovely goal, with Aberdeen left chasing shadows.

Yang Hyun-jun slips in a great pass for Matt O'Riley and the midfielder squares perfectly for Kyogo to touch in from close range.

    Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen

    Kheredine Idessane

He's just a yard or two in front of me, and Barry Robson is quite the picture of animation. Hands waving, striding up and down his technical area, not happy at all at the way his side has started this match. A goal down and it could easily have been a couple more had Kyogo been his usual pin-sharp self

  3. Postpublished at 13 mins

    Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen

Celtic are in a hurry to add to their tally as a Kyogo shot is blocked. The ball is flying out for a corner before Slobodan Rubezic inexplicably heads it back into the mix. Much to his relief, Celtic can't profit.

  4. 'Two new boys combine'published at 14:43 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Two of Celtic's summer signings combine to put Aberdeen in an extremely familiar position at Parkhead: a goal behind.

Luis Palma, in particular, is growing into his role well, with some spectacular goals and important assists. Though quite what Kelle Roos thought he was doing trying to come for a cross he was never getting is completely beyond me.

Yang's time in Scotland has been a slow burn so far - perhaps that goal will get him going.

    Celtic 1-0 Aberdeen

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

We did say that the front players were going to be key and Palma this time got to the byeline and Roos dived and missed it. He went with two hands, he should have gone with one, and Yang makes no mistake.

  6. goal

GOAL Celtic 1-0 Aberdeenpublished at 8 mins

    Yang Hyun-jun

It's a first Celtic goal for Yang Hyun-jun, who has the easy task of nodding in from close range.

Luis Palma did very well to drive to the byeline and his cross was too quick for goalkeeper Kelle Roos to intercept.

  7. A few empty seats at Celtic Parkpublished at 14:39 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

Blue skies and a perfect pitch, so we should see some decent football. Big chances for Celtic already go a-begging in the first few minutes.

A few more empty seats than normal, with the Green Brigade ban in force. Spare seats in other sections of the ground as well, though, in contrast to the usual total sell-out.

  8. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

Aberdeen defender Richard Jensen looks a picture of calm as he diverts the ball behind for a corner but his heart must have skipped a beat since it's only by a few inches.

  9. Postpublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

    Willie Miller
Former Aberdeen captain on BBC Sportsound

    When Kyogo's there, I'm thinking it's a goal.

He slots that away nine times out of 10.

  10. GREAT SAVE!published at 3 mins

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

Kelle Roos makes a smart diving stop to deny Kyogo as the Celtic striker latches on to the ball near the penalty spot.

Matt O'Riley scuffs the follow-up wide, but from an offside position.

  11. Dons momentum building?published at 14:33 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic 0-0 Aberdeen

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

It's been an up and down season for Aberdeen so far but there are wee signs of some positive momentum building. The first cup final of the season awaits them next month, and in their last six domestic matches, they've only lost once (at Kilmarnock).

Celtic, on the other hand, have only dropped four points all season.

    Could be interesting today.

  14. We need to get every detail right - Robsonpublished at 14:27 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic v Aberdeen (14:30)

Barry Robson confirms that midfielder Jamie McGrath misses out with a hamstring injury.

"We have to freshen it up - this is our fifth away game in a row and a lot of travelling and we need fresh legs to give us a hand," the Aberdeen manager tells BBC Scotland.

"Celtic came up against Atletico Madrid, one of the best teams in the world while down to 10 men. We know they are a top team and we have to try to nullify that.

"We need to be structured and gutsy. We need to get every detail right."

  15. 'Nice opportunity' for Holmpublished at 14:26 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic v Aberdeen (14:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers believes his team are ready to bounce back from that midweek hammering by Atletico Madrid as they seek to make it 50 home league games in a row without defeat.

"Throughout your life as a footballer, you have pain points and that was one of them, but the great beauty is that it gives you the chance to show our mentality and bounce back," he tells BBC Scotland.

"Over the last three days, we've reflected on it and the players have been great in training."

As for a first start for 20-year-old midfielder Odin Holm, he says: "I genuinely believe that over the course of his time here, he will prove to be a big talent, but he's got to start some games and this is a nice opportunity for him."

However, Rodgers is not underestimating Aberdeen's challenge as "they are always tough games".

  16. 'Stats a sorry read for Dons'published at 14:23 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic v Aberdeen (14:30)

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Celtic Park

There is an accumulation of stats to which the phrase 'look away now' might apply for all those of an Aberdeen persuasion.

No wins against Celtic since May 2018, eight straight defeats with an overall aggregate of 22-5.

Not even scored a goal on their last six visits to Celtic Park (last Dons player to score here was Lewis Ferguson with a penalty in November 2021 in a 2-1 defeat).

Celtic are looking for their 50th consecutive match at home without defeat. It will need a big Aberdeen performance to consign all that to the bin.

  17. Miovski returns in four Dons changespublished at 14:20 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic v Aberdeen (14:30)

Aberdeen manager Barry Robson freshens up his side with four changes to his starting line-up after Thursday's gruelling 2-2 draw away to PAOK in the Europa Conference League.

Bojan Miovski is back up front, while experienced wide man Jonny Hayes is given a start along with midfielders Leighton Clarkson and Dante Polvara.

Duk, Connor Barron and Ryan Duncan drop to the bench, while Jamie McGrath, whose fine free-kick secured that Group G point, misses out.

  18. Holm and Yang start for Celticpublished at 14:18 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Celtic v Aberdeen (14:30)

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers makes two changes from the side thumped 6-0 by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Norwegian midfielder Odin Holm, who replaced Paulo Bernardo at half-time in Spain, makes his first league start as the on-loan Benfica man drops to the bench.

Meanwhile, South Korean forward Yang Hyeon-Jun is chosen to replace Daizen Maeda, who was injured in the challenge that led to his midweek red card.
