  1. 'Unfamiliar role for Montano'published at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Livingston 0-0 Rangers

    Stephen Craigan
Former Motherwell captain on BBC Sportsound

It's unusual to see left-footed Cristian Montano playing as a right-sided centre-half, especially with Luiyi de Lucas at right wing-back.

It's clearly something Martindale has looked at - I don't know if it's Montano's recovery pace up against Sima.

  9. 'McCausland is doing good things'published at 11:52 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Livingston v Rangers (12:00)

Some more from Rangers manager Philippe Clement on BBC Sportsound: "We all need to be ready. We have after the winter break 12 games in 38 days so it is going to be a very dense schedule and we need all the squad.

"All the players need to know the principles, so I need to change the team to prepare them.

"Ross McCausland is doing good things. He's still a young lad who makes mistakes and that's normal. If young players show qualities I always give them chances.

"Bottom of the table is relative because six points more and you're in fourth place. We don't look at that. Every opponent is tough in Scotland and we need to be ready for that."

  10. Martindale going 'game-by-game'published at 11:49 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Livingston v Rangers (12:00)

Livingston manager David Martindale tells BBC Sportsound: "Most seasons we're in and around the bottom of the table at some stage. I don't pay too much attention to where we are in the league - I just take it on a game-by-game basis.

"I always had it in my mind to play two up front against Rangers. I need the security of three at the back.

"We've got to be compact, be disciplined, and know when to press. We've got to pose an attacking threat also.

"I don't really care what Philippe say [about the Livingston pitch]. We don't have the finances for a grass pitch."

  11. 'It's a different kind of football'published at 11:47 Greenwich Mean Time 12 November 2023

    Livingston v Rangers (12:00)

This is a first experience of Livingston's much-maligned synthetic surface for Rangers manager Philippe Clement.

"It's a different kind of football," the Belgian tells BBC Scotland. "I think in all the top leagues, they play on grass. There's a reason why the top leagues don't do it, so it's something to consider for the future but I'm not someone who decides what's happening in Scottish football."
