    Beth Mead (18 mins)

Beth Mead's 428-day wait for a WSL goal is over!

Kyra Cooney-Cross releases the England striker with a ball into the right-hand channel. Mead has space to take aim as she enters the penalty area, curling a shot into the same far corner of the net where Arsenal's first goal nestled.

What a moment for Mead a week after making her first start since that 11-month absence with a knee injury. Scenes for Arsenal and England fans, too.

Arsenal manager Jonas Eidevall said this week that Alessia Russo is the best finisher he's ever worked with.

It would take a sublime strike to score from the range she tries her luck from here, firing in a low effort that takes a slight deflection on its way through to Megan Walsh.

Another chant lauding Russo goes up from the Arsenal fans.

Chelsea are so dangerous on the break. Sam Kerr spins a powerful delivery across the face of goal and Fran Kirby is inches away from meeting it at the back post. That would certainly have been 3-0 had she got to it in time.
