What a great first touch from Alfie May.

He looked like he had velcro on his boot the way he plucked that out of the sky.

There's that bending pass and it looks just about onside. His touch is superb.

Now this is beautiful from Miles Leaburn, holds the ball up with his back to goal and sends a clever backheel on the half-volley right into the middle of the penalty area.

Alfie May and George Dobson cannot quite capitalise and the hosts scramble it clear.

Better from the underdogs.

Matthew Vigor gets a sight of goal 25 yards out and thinks 'why not?'

It trickles harmlessly wide though.

They did start really quickly, Cray Valley.

They do know the longer the game goes the more pressure builds on Charlton.

The tiredness goes to one side if you can hang in there and keep it at 0-0.

That is the ideal scenario for the home team.

Still 15 minutes until the break and it's shaping up to be a long 15 minutes for the hosts.

Charlton sniffing blood. But it's still goalless.

Pretty much every Charlton player is averaging more time in the Cray Valley half than their own.

Wins the header from the corner but Barney Williams clears it off the line.

Brilliant free-kick from Scott Fraser and Lucas Ness thinks he's scored with a header but it takes a nick off Cray Valley's Freddie Parker and goes over for a corner.

Free-kick out wide for the Addicks...

Absolutely love these tight non-league grounds where the fans are standing so close to the action.

Cray Valley cannot allow 12-goal leading Charlton marksman Alfie May this sort of space.

A tidy ball over the top finds May with room to volley goalwards but, again, it's straight at Sam Freeman.

The keeper saves well and May sticks the rebound into the side netting. Warning signs for the underdogs.

If Charlton thought they were going to turn up here, put their foot on the ball and stroke it around they will be horribly surprised.

This team really do want to go after Charlton and they are showing that at the start of this game. They do defend well.

Just as I write that, the Millers go a bit sloppy at the back and allow Alfie May a clear sight of goal from just inside the area.

But it's straight at keeper Sam Freeman who paws it away.

Big header from Cem Tumkaya at the other end to clear the danger as Corey Blackett-Taylor threatens for the League One side.

Cracking start, this, from the minnows, who certainly don't look five divisions inferior on the evidence thus far.

Hassan Ibrahim wins a Cray Valley free-kick just inside the Charlton half.

They pump it forward and Cem Tumkaya out-jumps the Addicks' defence but his header is harmlessly wide.

It's quite frantic, isn't it?

The pressure and press that's coming from Cray Valley, there's a lot of energy being spent in these opening minutes.

Kyrell Lisbie hangs a bit of a lazy leg out and is fortunate Alfie May is an honest type as the Charlton striker chooses to stay on his feet in the box.

Nothing comes of it, mind and Cray Valley have seen out the opening 10 minutes just like boss Steve McKimm said he wanted them to do pre-match.

It's been just a four-mile trip for Charlton tonight.

Cray Valley actually played Charlton's Under-18 in a pre-season friendly this summer just gone.

The Addicks' youngsters won 3-2. The first team not having it all their own way so far.
