Portsmouth go six points clear at the top of League One with this third win on the bounce.

Bolton had won 10 of their last 11 matches in all competitions but, perhaps shocked by conceding close to half-time, never picked up in the second half.

Dion Charles somehow missed an open goal from six-yards out for Wanderers at 0-0 and that in the final reckoning proved a huge turning point.

We were talking before the game how you compare this to last year, but this team is completely different, the ability of this team is so different.

A big night at Fratton Park and Portsmouth have done it.

A goal just before half-time from Conor Shaughnessy in a very even first half.

But Pompey dominated the second period and clinched the game through Kusini Yengi close to the end of the 90.

Pompey looking for a first win on a Monday after seven.

They have generally lost them, they have not won on a Monday since Easter Monday 2021 against Wigan.

They slip a ball into Jon Dadi Bodvarsson down the left and the front man spins and gets a cross-cum-shot away at a very tight angle.

Will Norris is a smidge off his line and has to dive his right to collect this and holds on firmly.

Josh Sheehan goes after him, dives in with a challenge nowhere near the ball and is rightly booked.
