    Righto, that's enough from us.

An okay-ish night for Scotland in the end, given a lot of first picks were missing.

Steve Clarke will be hoping to sign off on a successful campaign with an improved display at home to Norway on Sunday (19:45 GMT).

    Join us again then.

A tiny bit more from Steve Clarke on the goalkeeping situation... Remember, Angus Gunn is out injured at the moment.

"It was always going to be a difficult decision, I don't think there is much between the three goalkeepers," said the head coach. "Zander made a couple of good, important saves for us tonight.

"I had to make a choice, and Zander done okay."

The BBC Sportscene pundits are all in agreement that Lawrence Shankland should be on the plane to Germany next summer.

  4. 'Nice' goal from Shanklandpublished at 20:05 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

Steve Clarke admits that once Scott McTominay equalised at 1-1, he thought "Scotland would go onto win the game".

"But, they have one player that, with a moment of magic, can open a game up. He's a top, top player," he said.

And on Lawrence Shankland he added his late goal was "nice".

"Lawrence is a goalscorer, so you put him on the pitch. Thankfully it came off."

On the tight turnaround for Norway, the head coach added: "It's a long flight home, that gives me time to watch the game back on the laptop. We did a lot of things well, it's important to talk about them too."

  5. 'It wasn't an off night, it was a difficult night' - Clarkepublished at 20:01 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

Scotland head coach Steve Clarke tells BBC Scotland his side showed "good character" this evening.

"We came here with the intention of winning the game. You always say to your players, if you can't win, then don't lose. We showed good character.

"It was not our best performance, first half, despite dominating the ball. We didn't create too much in open play and we concede what we think is quite a poor goal.

"A little chat at half time, a couple of changes, we started brighter. Conceded another goal that we could have done better on to a very, very good player and then showed good character to stay in the game, plug away and create chances.

"Lawrence (Shankland) comes off the bench to score the equaliser and we don't lose.

"In the first half we didn't keep our shape well enough, we didn't show enough patience. We wanted to win the game before the game was there to be won. You have to wait for your chances to come and I thought we were a little impetus. We controlled the game better in the second half.

"It wasn't an off night, it was a difficult night against a good opponent. Georgia are probably the best pot four team and have one player up front who is exceptional. It is a night where we can do better, but to say it was an off night would be unfair to our players."

    It's 2 December in Hamburg.

Then the mad scramble for accommodation and elaborate route planning begins.

  7. Which pot will Scotland be in?published at 19:49 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

And do we really care? We're going to the big party in Germany next summer!

The pot 1 ship appears to have sailed. That would require a Georgia win in Spain.

Pot 2 is still on but that will require a two-goal win over Norway on Sunday or a big single-goal success; a 4-3 sort of thing.

Anything else and it's pot 3...

There is a school of thought, mind, that pot 3 is actually the better place to be.

  9. 'Rolling around like babies is not football'published at 19:37 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

Scott McTominay is not happy about the some of the Georgian histrionics.

There were a few wild tackles towards the end and some of the play-acting was outrageous.

"Every game at this level is big," the Manchester United midfielder told Viaplay. "They've got some really good footballers but the way that they were acting on the pitch was a disgrace. Provoking the referee, it's difficult to keep your head when that's happening.

"Rolling around like babies all night is not football. We just wanted to get on with the game to try and win it."

  10. Clark hopes he's done enough to keep glovespublished at 19:33 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

After playing his first full 90-minute game for his country, goalkeeper Zander Clark was waxing lyrical about Hearts team-mate Lawrence Shankland.

"I'm buzzing for him," he said. "He's been in good form for club, so I'm delighted to see him come on and get the goal to get us a point.

"We knew it was going to be tough and stuffy, so we said if we can't win the game, make sure we don't lose it.

"Credit to the wee man, it's a finish I've seen him do many a time - that header at the back post. It's a bit more positivity to take into Sunday for the fans."

When asked if he'd be in line for a third cap on Sunday, he said: "I don't know... Hopefully!

"It's been nice to experience it, hopefully I've done enough to merit a start on Sunday. I'll have Robby (McCrorie) and Kells (Liam Kelly) pushing me all the way, so it'll be another decision for the manager."

  11. Patience rewarded for Shanklandpublished at 19:27 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

We should add that Lawrence Shankland’s equaliser was his first Scotland goal in four years and 34 days, since netting against San Marino in October 2019.

That was cap number six and he's got six goals in his last six games for club and country.

Scott McTominay has been having a stormer of a campaign for Scotland, taking his goal tally to seven this evening.

Only Belgium's Romelu Lukaku (10) and Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo (9) have scored more goals so far in Euro 2024 qualifying.

  13. Shankland 'grateful' to get his goalpublished at 19:18 Greenwich Mean Time 16 November 2023

    FT: Georgia 2-2 Scotland

Goalscorer Lawrence Shankland had time for a wee word with Jane Lewis there...

"We were chasing the game, coming from behind twice," he said. "To get the equaliser was important and I'm just grateful to get that goal.

"It's a difficult place to come, thankfully enough we'd already qualified from the group so it wasn't pivotal. They're a good team, with good individual players. Thankfully I was in there at the right moment."

A good night for the Hearts duo in the squad. Lawrence Shankland took his one chance in front of goal and Zander Clark made a couple of good saves.

Maybe a question mark over the opening goal, which was squeezed in at Clark's near post...

He's a natural goalscorer, I don't think Jacob Brown is.

So, I'd definitely go for Shankland.
