    Brereton Diaz (45 mins)

    On his Premier League debut!

It's a brilliant save initially by Alphonse Areola to deny William Osula after it was flicked in by Auston Trusty.

It comes back out to Brereton Diaz though and he thumps it into the net from close range on his Sheffield United league debut.

I think Ward-Prowse has to make that tackle because Bogle is heading towards goal there.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 44 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

James Ward-Prowse has to foul Jayden Bogle after Maxwell Cornet had given it away in a dangerous position.

He's carded for it too. 'One for the team.'

  4. Postpublished at 42 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

Sheffield United gift a corner after failing to deal with a routine throw-in. Danny Ings was being a nuisance.

The set-piece is whipped in but Jarrod Bowen touches it wide as he struggles to keep his balance.

That was a half-chance for somebody of his quality.

  5. Postpublished at 41 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

James Ward-Prowse curls in the free-kick but William Osula heads it away.

West Ham come again and Danny Ings' shot is blocked by Jayden Bogle.

  6. YELLOW CARDpublished at 40 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

Pablo Fornals is pulled back by Gustavo Hamer as West Ham break through the middle. First yellow card of the match.

Konstantinos Mavropanos pushes William Osula wide and in the end his shoot/cross dribbles out for a throw-in on the far side.

Sheffield United play good football until they get to the edge of the box. Their final ball is letting them down.

  9. Postpublished at 37 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

James McAtee carries it down the right. He holds onto it with team-mates calling for it in the box. Eventually he tries to cut inside and goes down after running into Tomas Soucek.

A few fans are appealling for a penalty but VAR waves it away.

  10. Postpublished at 36 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

Wes Foderingham's clearance is a poor one and James Ward-Prowse almost brings it under control. Sheffield United get away with one.

Anel Ahmedhodzic then gets in the way of James McAtee's strike and it deflects comfortably into Alphonse Areola's hands.

Oooh. Nice run from Brereton Diaz and Gustavo Hamer almost slides him in. It's well defended by Vladimir Coufal in the end.

Sheffield United have played well but they've not been clinical. That's the story of their season.

  13. Postpublished at 32 mins

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

Sheffield United have failed to win in their last 27 matches when conceding the opening goal in the Premier League.

  14. 'It was coming'published at 14:30 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Sheffield United 0-1 West Ham

It was coming for West Ham, to be fair. It was a good passage of play with their build up play from the back.

It's a good finish from Cornet because I didn't think he'd started the game well at all.

  15. goal

GOAL - Sheffield United 0-1 West Hampublished at 14:28 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Maxwel Cornet (28 mins)

Against the run of play but West Ham have looked dangerous on the break.

It's Maxwel Cornet's first West Ham goal and he was just in the right place at the right time.

Danny Ings cuts inside and shoots. It's deflected up and into Cornet's feet.

He keeps his cool and fires it into the bottom corner. Not a bad way to make your mark on your first Premier League start for the club!

  16. CLOSE!published at 28 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

James McAtee turns nicely and Kurt Zouma has to concede a corner.

Sheffield United are still on top. Can they capitalise?

Auston Trusty is free in the box when the corner comes in but he heads it straight at Alphonse Areola. Big chance missed!

Soucek is better off getting into the box and letting the likes of Ward-Prowse get on the ball. This is where West Ham are missing Alvarez.

  18. Postpublished at 14:24 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

On the replay, it looks like Konstantinos Mavropanos might actually have tripped William Osula with that challenge earlier.

Sheffield United might have had a case for a VAR check.

  19. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

    A very scrappy few minutes.

Brereton Diaz is miles offside but they play on until the flag goes up. He has William Osula to his left for a tap-in but plays it behind him and Alphonse Areola can make the save.

The whistle goes, West Ham take it quick and lose the ball almost immediately on the break.

Diaz then curls an effort straight at Alphonse at the other end.

  20. Postpublished at 22 mins

    Sheffield United 0-0 West Ham

William Osula is almost through on goal but Konstantinos Mavropanos puts in a decent tackle to stop him.
