Scotland head coach Pedro Martinez Losa tells BBC Scotland: "I think it was a very competitive game as we have seen in all the Nations League games. I think we did more than enough to win this game. That's football.

"Obviously, disappointed to not win this game. That's the learning process. We have to keep going. We have an important game on Tuesday. We have to recharge the batteries.

"I thought it was consistent of the capabilities of the team to compete. I think Belgium is a very good team. I think we showed a little more [than them] This occasion, it's a draw.

"What we want is to qualify for the Euros. Now we need to pick up another route. We have a very young group. This has been a learning opportunity. We have been living good moments and bad moments on and off the pitch.

"It's a moment of learning. It's a moment to be ready for the next challenge that's coming up."

  4. 'It's brilliant to be back' - Lauderpublished at 21:53 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2023

    FT: Belgium 1-1 Scotland

Having been out the squad for more than three years, it's clear Hayley Lauder is delighted to be back in her chat with BBC Scotland.

On the game: "It's disappointing. For big spells of the game we were in it. We created a lot of opportunities, but that final touch and final pass let us down. Ultimately, its disappointing."

On promising signs: "This is what we need to show every game. We have got a game on Tuesday to come, so we need to take the positive feelings from tonight into that. There are plenty things we can learn from tonight and, as a group, we need to stick together. The game on Tuesday night means a lot to us."

On returning to the squad: "It's brilliant [to be back]. After three-and-a-half years, I started to think it wouldn't happen. It's amazing. Result aside, it is amazing to be back.

"For things to be so new, like the coaching staff, there are still so many people I'm close with here. I've loved it [being back] so far.

"Yeah I did [think ship had sailed] but I worked hard. I have to thank Glasgow City, they kept me going and kept me believing. I was surprised, but I don't want to come back and just go away with the team, I want to help."

On being up for England on Tuesday: "We will. We are Scottish, we a have a lot of pride in ourselves and hopefully we can put on a performance that shows that."

As we know, Scotland are guaranteed to finish bottom of the Nations League Group A1.

But England's late show in London means that it's all to play for in regards to the top end of the table.

Oddly enough, some Scotland players will step out onto the Hampden turf knowing that an England win on Tuesday will boost their chances of becoming Olympians this summer.

    Strange auld game.

Speaking of England, they've come back from two goals down to snatch a 3-2 win at Wembley over The Netherlands.

Let's have a deek at what that does to the group...

  8. Playing for pride against the auld enemypublished at 21:38 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2023

    FT: Belgium 1-1 Scotland

As we mentioned pre-match, Belgium had beaten both England and The Netherlands at home.

With that context in mind, it looks like a pretty solid point.

But tonight was simply must-win for Scotland, and they didn't.

It's League B now, and it means they have nothing to pride to play for against England at Hampden on Tuesday.

If there's any fixture that where pride is enough, it's that one.

I think Belgium will be disappointed because it's their home game, but I don't think their performance merited their three points.

It's us coming away from here disappointed.

Another draw with Belgium condemns Pedro Martinez Losa's side to relegation from Nations League Group A1.

Once again, it's a night of frustration for Scotland despite a battling display.

Really sore one for Erin Cuthbert.

She slides in for a challenge and accidentally eats the boot of Kassandra Missipo.

We've had our own conversations about medical care in the SWPL this season. The medics in Leuven took far too long to get on the pitch and attend to Cuthbert there.

One of Scotland's best chances. It's everything you would want and it's why Kirsty Hanson is out on the left-hand side.

I know it's a tricky one for Amy Gallacher but she has to keep her concentration to do more to get that ball back on target.
