  5. 'Hearts fortunate to be in front'published at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    HT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

    Michael Stewart
Former Scotland midfielder on BBC Sportsound

Kilmarnock have had good chances and Derek McInnes will be raging his side are not level.

There have been moments when Hearts looked like they would kick on but then Liam Boyce's injury derailed them slightly.

They are perhaps fortunate to be in front, but they are and confidence will come from good results.

  6. Should Dennis have been sent off?published at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    HT: Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

    Leanne Crichton
Former Scotland international on BBC Sportsound

I think that's a red card (for Will Dennis). If that happens anywhere else on the pitch or any other player makes that motion, it would be considered serious foul play.

Yes, it's offside but you've still endangered an opponent.

  7. HALF-TIME Kilmarnock 0-1 Heart of Midlothianpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

A brilliant delivery from Danny Armstrong gives Killie another huge chance right at the end of the half, but Will Dennis' own goal is the difference at half-time as Zander Clark reacts to keep Corrie Ndaba out.

Lawrence Shankland's driven effort across the face of goal was turned home by the Kilmarnock goalkeeper, who may well have been lucky to avoid a red card after VAR confusion reigned at Rugby Park

Plenty of goalmouth action in Ayrshrie so far.

  8. HALF-TIME - Motherwell 1-2 Dundeepublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

Dundee have turned this game around to lead at the break.

After Mika Biereth's brilliant opener, Lyall Cameron's header and Owen Beck's excellent finish have the visitors in control.

Motherwell, who have just one clean sheet all season are heading for an 11th game without a win unless they can find a big improvement.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

Once again, Danny Armstrong does brilliantly to get the ball into the box. Once again, there's no one there in blue and white to turn it home.

The home fans are getting frustrated.

  10. Postpublished at 15:46 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

Will Dennis absolutely flies into Yutaro Oda as the Hearts forward sprints in behind the home defence.

The goalkeeper is booked, but a lengthy VAR check follows.

Oda is well offside but the yellow card is NOT rescinded. Killie boss Derek McInnes looks bemused as he talks to the fourth official but he might consider himself lucky that it wasn't a red for such a reckless challenge.

  13. 'What a response from Dundee'published at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Motherwell 1-2 Dundee

    Martin Dowden
    BBC Scotland at Fir Park

    Quite the turnaround, this.

Motherwell had started very well indeed but since the goal, Dundee got hold of the ball, gradually worked their way back into it and then began to really threaten in the final third.

They look a very good team with some genuine talent and are holding their own in this league. Long way to go but there seems only one winner right now.

  14. Postpublished at 15:37 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

If Killie fans are wondering about their chances of salvaging a win from this one, there are mixed messages in the history.

Derek McInnes' side have failed to win in their previous 10 outings when conceding the first goal, but who were the last team the Ayrshire club came from behind to beat in the league?

That would be Hearts in April this year.

  15. Postpublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Heart of Midlothian

Kilmarnock look like they're winding up for a long throw, but it's instead played short to David Watson.

The midfielder digs out a good cross that finds Robbie Deas, who can't direct his header on target.

  16. goal

GOAL Motherwell 1-2 Dundeepublished at 15:35 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Owen Beck

Brilliant finish from Owen Beck. And a great move overall.

A ball down the side for Zak Rudden rips Motherwell apart, and he picks out Beck, who dummies to shoot to send Stephen O'Donnell sliding in.

The wing-back then composes himself and finishes beyond Liam Kelly. Silky.

  17. Boyce forced offpublished at 15:32 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

Another Hearts player goes down completely unchallenged, but unlike Beni Baningime, Liam Boyce won't be able to continue.

The striker heads off to be replaced by Toby Sibbick, who will likely allow Yutaro Oda to leave the unfamiliar right wing-back role and move further forward.

  18. goal

GOAL Motherwell 1-1 Dundeepublished at 15:31 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2023

    Lyall Cameron

    Dundee are back in it!

They've improved in the last 10 minutes and get their reward.

Owen Beck jinks in from the left and has a shot blocked. Aaron Donnelly hooks it back into the box and Lyall Cameron nods into the bottom corner.

It's the second equaliser he's scored against Motherwell this season.

    Kilmarnock 0-1 Hearts

    Kheredine Idessane
    BBC Scotland at Rugby Park

That goal has the Hearts fans in the Chadwick Stand in fine fettle. They're bouncing up and down in full voice, enjoying their trip through from the capital.

The home fans around me in the main stand? Not so much. A few are critical of their goalie Will Dennis, who's just hoofed the ball aimlessly out of play, having turned Lawrence Shankland's shot into his own net for the opener. Not Killie's day so far.

    Frantic stuff in Ayrshire.

The ball breaks to Liam Boyce just inside the box and you'd expect him to at least test a ropey-looking Will Dennis, but the Hearts striker lashes wide.
