These type of results are what promotion is made of.

Football won the day. Leeds played all the football, Preston came to spoil and get a point if they could.

They are not an easy team to play against.

It was a real test for the referee. Leeds did well to stay composed.

Joel Piroe's late, late penalty gives Leeds a vital win.

A dramatic end to a pretty dramatic game.

Preston took the lead inside two minutes from Will Keane's tap in but Leeds quickly hit back through Dan James' header.

The home side, who remain unbeaten at home this season, had much the better of it as the game wore on but it looked like they would be forced to settle for a point.

However, Ryan Ledson was adjudged to have handled in the area in time added on and sub Piroe kept his cool to give Leeds the win.

They're up to four points off second-placed Southampton.

    It's a great penalty.

There was lots of pressure on that and that’s what they (Leeds) deserve.

It's the right outcome - football has won.
