    Leeds 1-1 Preston

There's some shades of Marcelo Bielsa's Leeds in this current iteration.

If the away side even think about trying to play out from the back the Whites swarm all over them.

I think Preston boss Ryan Lowe might look for his side to go a bit more direct from goal kicks in the second half.

    Really good from Mads Frokjaer.

He’s done a lot of ball-stealing – probably not what he’s known for but it’s really helping.

You get the feeling if Leeds really get on with it they can cause real problems but they're just not at the moment.

There's a bit of vanity about them.

  3. YELLOW CARDpublished at 34 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Ali McCann booked for the away side for the most blatant body check on Dan James.

It would have been a foul in rugby.

  4. Postpublished at 33 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Great play from Dan James to scamper down th line and swing a cross into the area for Patrick Bamford.

The Leeds striker does well to get his effort on target but it's a routine stop for Dai Cornell.

The Welshman is in goal for Preston today because Freddie Woodman is one of a number of North End players out with illness.

A deep Ben Whiteman free-kick from the left is punched by Illan Meslier under no pressure.

The home fans aren't happy that he's not just caught it.

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Leeds win a free-kick in a dangerous area for an agricultural challenge on Dan James by Andrew Hughes.

It's in a great place for a shot at goal.

Junior Firpo goes for the top corner and... He probably wont get to take the next one.

    Neil Redfearn

Leeds have settled into this well.

Where some sides might have been a bit shocked by Preston’s start, since the equaliser it’s been all Leeds.

  8. Postpublished at 24 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Preston boss Ryan Lowe has gone with an attacking line-up today.

The downside of that is that his side have looked really open more than once when Leeds have won the ball back on the halfway line, one of these when the Whites scored.

However, they've also looked very dangerous themselves in similar situations.

Making for a great game on this early Sunday afternoon.

  9. Postpublished at 21 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Leeds starting to get on top now.

They keep possession for a concerted period as they look to fashion a decent opening.

Georginio Rutter eventually has a go from just inside the area but Ali McCann is there to get the block.

  10. 'Little bit feisty'published at 12:19 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Neil Redfearn

It's just not convincing defending is it.

    Brilliant play from Bamford.

He’s put his man under pressure and Bamford is desperately unlucky.

    It's a little bit feisty isn't it.

  11. Postpublished at 16 mins

So nearly a second for Leeds!

An Andrew Hughes header back for Preston keeper Dai Cornell has too much on it and Patrick Bamford nearly has a tap in but he can't quite get enough on it.

Can't take your eyes off this for a second just now.

These early starters can sometimes be slow burners.

    None of that today!

The corner from that fine Illan Meslier save from Liam Millar causes total panic in the home defence but they manage to hammer it away at about the fourth attempt.

Former Leeds boss Neil Redfearn said Preston's set pieces could cause Leeds real problems pre-kickoff and, indeed, he's just said it again!

  13. 'Composed' Leeds show good mentalitypublished at 12:14 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

    Neil Redfearn
Former Leeds manager on BBC Radio Leeds

They’ve (Leeds) kept the same mentality and been composed in possession.

Free-kicks are going to be a problem for Leeds.

Liam Millar is going to be handful for Archie Gray, he’s got the beating of him.

  14. Postpublished at 11 mins

    Leeds 1-1 Preston

Great save by Illan Meslier in the Leeds goal.

Preston work a nice bit of attacking play and the ball's played through for Liam Millar.

He hits his shot high to the near post but the Frenchman keeps it out.

  15. YELLOW CARDpublished at 8 mins

It was a free header at the back post.

There are about six different episodes there where Preston weren’t close enough to Leeds and they’ve been punished.

They've sat off and a good team has picked them off there.

    That didn't take long!

Great attack from Leeds and they're level almost immmediately.

Ilia Gruev starts it off on the halfway line with some tidy feet on the touchline to open things up.

He plays it into Glen Kamara in acres of space, he shifts it on to Crysencio Summerville and he passes it down the line for Junior Firpo.

Firpo catches up with it just before the byline and stands it up to the back post where little Dan James is coming in with purpose to head home.

    Great start!

    Leeds 0-1 Preston

Just for context, Leeds are the only club in the 72 in the EFL not to have lost at home so far this season.

They have a decent record of coming from behind but Preston have given themselves the perfect start here.

  19. 'Absolute mess' for Leedspublished at 12:05 Greenwich Mean Time 21 January

An absolute mess from Leeds United.

Whiteman with the free-kick, Lindsay with the header across and it was a swipe from Potts I think and Keane finishes.

It was a crowded penalty area.

    A horrendous start from Leeds.

    Will Keane

    MY WORD!

Preston win an attacking free-kick in the first minute for a foul on Emil Riis by Joe Rodon.

Ben Whiteman stands it up to the back stick where it's headed back across goal and, via a total mishit in the middle, comes to Liam Millar back across goal.

He hits it into the danger area and there's Will Keane two yards out to tap in and stun Elland Road.
