    Leicester 1-0 Ipswich

As if to prove my point, Stephy Mavididi dribbles his way past a couple of Ipswich defenders on the Leicester left and suddenly finds himself bearing down on goal.

Unlike Leicester's first-half goal, Ipswich clear the ball behind for a corner rather than into the back of their own net.

Ipswich have started well in the second period and a much more aggressive press on the Leicester defence is very evident.

The danger of that tactic is being picked off by a very skilful Leicester team.

Fascinated to see how it plays out.

    Much better from Ipswich!

A set-piece evades the diving Conor Chaplin at the near post, but it's another corner for the visitors.

From it, Wes Burns gets in behind the Leicester defence and his acrobatic effort is tipped over well by Mads Hermansen.

    Leicester 1-0 Ipswich

Just as they did in the first half, Ipswich start well and get an early corner within 30 seconds of the kick-off.

A deep cross from the left is headed over at the back post by Harry Clarke.

Ipswich have an excellent away record in the Championship this season, winning seven, drawing four and losing just two of their 13 away fixtures.

However, goals on the road have been scarce for the Tractor Boys. Of the teams in the top half of the table, only Preston (14) have scored fewer away goals than Ipswich.

And they need to find a second-half goal against a Leicester team that has conceded only seven times on home soil this term.

Leicester have got into some nice areas and created some good chances.

It is two good teams going at it, head-to-head, making it an exciting game.

Leicester have played better than they did at Portman Road. I feel Leicester need a second goal, I can't see this ending 1-0.

A domineering Leicester have the half-time lead they deserve, thanks to that Leif Davis own goal.

The mutters among those following Ipswich Town is that the Tractor Boys 'have done nothing, absolutely nothing'.

It might be on the negative side, but on genuine chances created in the first 45 minutes they are not too far off the mark.

Anon: The gulf is squad value just shows how big Premier League parachute payments are! Leicester over £200m, Ipswich £19m.

I've not done the maths myself, but fair to say Ipswich have been punching well above their weight this season...

    Advantage, Leicester City.

The Championship leaders are in front thanks to an own goal from Leif Davis, which came as a result of superb work down the Foxes' left by Stephy Mavididi.

As a minute of stoppage time is signalled, Wes Burns, who Alex Mathie picked out as Ipswich's bright spot a few moments ago, cuts in off the left and tries a curling shot but it's well over the bar.

    Vaclav Hladky saves Ipswich again!

Leicester centre-back Wout Faes finds himself in nosebleed territory inside the Ipswich area and, after going down under little to no contact, he gets back up and sets up Tom Cannon, whose low shot is kept out by the Ipswich keeper.

Kasey McAteer profits from Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's surging run from deep, but the Leicester winger sends his shot from distance high over the bar.

Three minutes and stoppage time until the interval. Can Ipswich create something meaningful before the break?

Gill, St Neots: What a mess, Davis shouldn't be playing so central, he should be playing at left-back and therefore nowhere near putting the ball in his own net!

Leicester are looking to turn the screw and bid to get a second goal before the break.

Jannik Vestergaard's header from a corner is caught by Vaclav Hladky, then Ricardo Pereira shoots wide from just inside the box after a tame clearing header by an Ipswich defender.

    Stephy Mavididi's stunning season continues!

Yet again, the winger comes up with a decisive moment after first trading passes with Harry Winks before linking up with Ricardo Pereira.

The goal was worthy of more than an own goal, you feel. But the Foxes will take it all day long.
