Bottom of the table Fleetwood, who are without a win since mid-November, travel to Wycombe. The Cod Army will be desperate for a win having lost their last five games.

Beleaguered Reading, who have been given a suspended three-point deduction for the abandonment of their Port Vale fixture two weeks ago, will be looking to build on Tuesday's win over high-flying Derby when they welcome Leyton Orient.

Shrewsbury will have a familiar face in their dugout at Northampton today after they re-appointed former boss Paul Hurst to replace Matt Taylor. This will be Hurst's first game back in charge of a Town side who are four points above the League One drop zone.

Struggling Charlton sacked their second manager this season when they parted company with Michael Appleton on Tuesday visit upwardly-mobile Blackpool, while 15th-placed Burton are away at 14th-placed Cambridge.

The Portsmouth promotion ship has been listing in recent weeks with only eight points from the last seven games, but they remain top of the pile in League One.

Victory at Port Vale this afternoon will keep them out in front for another week as they chase consecutive wins for the first time since mid-December.

Any Pompey slip up and Peterborough will be able to take advantage. Posh start the day one point behind and with a game in hand as they travel to Lincoln.

One defeat in 21 league games, unbeaten in 11, the division's highest scorers - everything is looking good for Darren Ferguson's men, although it is far from a two-horse race in League One this season.

Bolton, in third, and two points behind Portsmouth with two games in hand, got back on track with a home win over Cheltenham on Tuesday and will look to back that up from their trip up north to relegation strugglers Carlisle, backed by almost 3,000 visiting supporters.

Derby lost ground with just one point from away matches to Lincoln and Reading and no goals. That means they are fourth, three points behind Pompey on the same number of games.

Three points from the visit of Cheltenham to Pride Park this afternoon will be considered essential.

Sneaking up on the rails are Barnsley. Their 11-match unbeaten streak has them four points off top spot with a game less, as they welcome another side near the bottom, Exeter, to Oakwell.

Oxford were as high as second, until Liam Manning left for the head coach's role at Bristol City and things have not quite been as smooth under Des Buckingham.

They are clinging on in sixth as they visit Bristol Rovers, only three points clear of Stevenage, who are away to Wigan.

There is a full fixture list in League One today after all 24 teams were knocked out of the FA Cup before the fourth round stage.

This is the first time since 1983 that the fourth round of the Cup has not featured a single third tier team.

Manchester United, who visit League Two Newport tomorrow, beat Brighton in that year's showpiece for any omens fans out there ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

    Millwall v Preston (15:00 GMT)

Millwall eased their relegation concerns with a run of three successive wins over the festive period.

However, successive defeats mean they could end the weekend just five points clear of danger.

Their home form has been improved since Joe Edwards took charge and they'll look to continue their fine recent record against Preston, a team they are unbeaten against in their past nine meetings.

Ryan Lowe's men gave as good as they got before succumbing to a late defeat at Leeds last Sunday.

Victory for them would lift to within two points of the play-offs.

    Sunderland v Stoke (15:00 GMT)

It's not been the kind of start to life as Sunderland gaffer that Michael Beale would have wanted.

The former Rangers boss was not a universally popular choice as Tony Mowbray's replacement last month and two wins and just five goals from his first seven games hasn't done much to win over any doubters.

On the subject of doubters, influential midfielder Alex Pritchard is unavailable today after saying he wants to leave the club.

Still, despite all that, a win today would put them level on points with sixth-placed Coventry City.

Stoke counterpart Steven Schumacher has also only won two of his seven games since taking over in the Potteries.

They start the day eight points clear of the bottom three and will look to bounce back after a home defeat by Birmingham last week.

Blues are of course now managed by former Black Cats boss Mowbray. The Championship, eh?
