Tommy Conway drills a lovely low pass into traffic in the box.

He is looking for Nahki Well, but he is crowded out. The hosts have created a few good 'nearly moments' in this game.

It is only right to expect a lot from Patrick Bamford right now.

The once-capped England striker has scored four goals in six appearances in all competitions for Leeds in 2024.

And that is a heck of a change in form for a player who only scored six goals in 37 games in 2023.

Oh, and he has also scored in both of his league appearances at Ashton Gate for the Whites.

It's a super move again. They miss the press out and go long. Then a lovely slide-rule ball into Patrick and he fires it early. Really, really good and it'll give Leeds confidence.

Patrick Bamford is next to test Max O'Leary.

With one silky smooth movement he meets a pass and thumps his effort goalward.

But it's straight at the keeper, who makes a routine save.

We've just surpassed the 15th of the game as a two-minute's applause begins in memory of teenagers Max Dixon and Mason Rist, who were fatally stabbed earlier this week in Bristol.

An image of the two boys has been shown on the screen inside Ashton Gate as fans around the ground rose to their feet.

  6. 'Brilliant dispossession'published at 20:18 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Adam Pope

The persistence alone from Crysencio Summerville, he deserved to score there but he couldn't quite find the finish.

But a brilliant dispossession to create the chance and Leeds a goalkeeper's hand away from taking the lead.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 14 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

Max O'Leary makes a vital intervention to keep Crysencio Summerville from putting Leeds ahead.

From Bristol City's corner, the ball heads to the halfway line where George Tanner is caught on the ball.

Leeds' Dutchman Summerville is running through on goal and looks certain to score...

But O'Leary comes a long way off his line, and sticks up a palm to deny Summerville as he tried to lift the ball over him.

    Bristol City are almost in!

Cameron Pring meets a searching long ball with a header that sets Nahki Wells free.

He can't, however, shake his man and has his effort blocked for a corner.

The corner in is well defended.

Leeds' Georginio Rutter is afforded space to run into the first time.

He tries to thread a pass into the box, but it is cleared for a corner.

The corner comes in to the front post, and eventually Joe Rodon fires an effort well over the bar.

  10. 'Bamford needs a spark'published at 20:11 Greenwich Mean Time 2 February

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

    Jon Newsome

First 15-20 minutes, Patrick Bamford just needs something to happen for him - a shot on goal or a good run - just to give him that spark and get him going.

Dean Plumley: A win today and Leeds United go up to 2nd, even though the other teams have games in hand, cat amongst the pigeons time tonight.

Thumb poll time... if you think Leeds are going straight back up to the Premier League, thumbs up.

If another Championship season beckons, thumbs down.

A bit of a pained walk up and down the side of the pitch has Cameron Pring able to come back on.

Bristol City seeing plenty of the ball high up the pitch, but they haven't really caused any moments of grief.

  13. Postpublished at 5 mins

I was wrong. No whistle was blown. So it's just a throw in.

And here I am almost talking down what was a great tackle from Gray.

Still, Pring is limping around trying to shake off the blow.

Archie Gray doesn't miss as he gets a sliding tackle in on Cameron Pring as he tries to race away.

It's a free-kick in a good position on the left for Bristol City.

First, Pring gets a little attention from the medics.

  16. Postpublished at 3 mins

    Bristol City 0-0 Leeds

Leeds United have been a side that Bristol City have struggled to get results against for a number of years now.

They have lost 14 of their past 17 league matches against Leeds, winning just one and drawing twice in that time.

Their only win in this time coming in September 2016 under Lee Johnson.

What are the chances of that changing today? They get a win and they edge themselves towards the play-off race.

    Sophie Hurcom
    BBC Sport at Ashton Gate

Bristol City fans have finally got a long-held wish with Nahki Wells and Tommy Conway starting up front for the first time this season.

A mix of injuries following on from one another to both players, plus manager Liam Manning's preference to start one rather than both since he came in, means the duo haven't had much shared pitch time so far.

But after Conway - City's top scorer this campaign - came on from the bench during their draw with Coventry midweek and the pair linked up well together up front, Manning has taken the leap and tweaked his formation tonight to start with two up front.
