  1. Feeble first 45 minutes at The Hawthornspublished at 16:00 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    HT: West Brom 0-0 Birmingham

    Ged Scott
    BBC Sport at The Hawthorns

The stats say there have been four shots on target here - but I can't actually remember any of them. And it's only half-time.

"One of the worst 45 minutes I've ever seen," mutters one seasoned old hack as he brushes past on his way to the solace of a half-time pie.

It has been fully committed. Two teams working hard. Plenty of effort. But still pretty feeble.

I really hope it gets better in the second half. It sure cannot get any worse.

  2. Passion but lacking qualitypublished at 15:58 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    HT: Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Wed

    Final Score

Goalless. A caretaker manager in one dugout. For February 2024, see October 2023. Plenty of parallels with the reverse fixture.

If Sorba Thomas and Josh Koroma trusted their left feet, Huddersfield could have tested James Beadle in the Wednesday goal a bit better.

The main flashpoint saw Thomas and Matty Pearson have a very public slanging match over who should be picking up the lively Djeidi Gassama on the Wednesday wing. They're struggling, but they still care.

  3. Gnonto sends Leeds secondpublished at 15:56 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

The race for automatic promotion has certainly heated up.

Last night Leeds United leapt up to second in the table for the first time with victory against Bristol City.

Italy winger Wilfried Gnonto was the difference, scoring the second-half winner in a game that Leeds could have, and maybe should have, won by more.

That win put all the pressure back on Ipswich and Southampton, who need results to go back above the Whites.

It is going Southampton's way right now, while Ipswich looked stunned at Preston.

  4. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Hull 1-0 Millwall

    Hull celebrateImage source, Rex Features

Great first 45 minutes for the Tigers, even if they have just the one goal to show for it so far.

Jaden Philogene was the man to nab it, returning to the side after injury and tucking away the rebound after Anass Zaroury rattled the crossbar.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Preston 3-0 Ipswich

A dream first half for Preston but a nightmare for Ipswich.

The Lilywhites are three goals up and had been 2-0 up inside eight minutes. The Tractor Boys' poor form looks set to continue unless they can turn things around after the break.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Rotherham 0-2 Southampton

A comfortable first half for the Championship's form team.

Southampton lead 2-0 against struggling Rotherham at the break and are coasting their way to victory as it stands.

  7. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    West Brom 0-0 Birmingham

There has been a smattering of chances, but nothing too spectacular so far as it remains goalless at the Hawthorns.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Wed

All over in the first half at the John Smith's Stadium.

Goalless between managerless Huddersfield and fellow strugglers Sheffield Wednesday.

The hosts lost Rhys Healey to injury midway through the first half, meanwhile.

  9. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Watford 0-1 Cardiff

Josh Bowler's strike has lit up a tight affair at Vicarage Road and Watford will need to up their game if they're to maintain their challenge for the play-offs. So far, right-back Ryan Andrews has gone closest to troubling Cardiff keeper Jak Alnwick.

  10. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Swansea 0-1 Plymouth

Morgan Whittaker's enjoying his return to Swansea so far, having scored the only goal to give Plymouth hope of finally ending their winless record on the road.

Chances at both ends, though - we can probably expect more goals in the second half.

  11. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Blackburn 0-0 QPR

Goalless at the break between two sides who could really do with a win.

An even first period with chances to Blackburn and QPR and plenty to play for when this one returns.

  12. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Stoke 0-2 Leicester

    Leicester celebrateImage source, PA Media

It's all going pretty great for Championship leaders Leicester City.

Two goals in three minutes from Patson Daka and Kasey McAteer has the Foxes in total control against Stoke.

  13. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Norwich 0-0 Coventry

Both sides have had their moments, but it remains all square between these two at Carrow Road.

  14. goal

GOAL: Preston 3-0 Ipswichpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Will Keane (39 mins)

It's gone from bad to worse for Ipswich and how much will this impact their promotion credentials?

Will Keane finds his second - and Preston's third - right before half-time with a strike from inside the box.

  15. goal

GOAL: Watford 0-1 Cardiffpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Josh Bowler (43 mins)

There haven't been too many chances in this game, but quality trumps quantity as Josh Bowler fires the Bluebirds into the lead!

The winger glides past two challenges and buries his finish into the top corner for his third goal of the season.

Watford haven't actually won at home in the league since November and there'll probably be a few jitters among the Vicarage Road crowd right now.

  16. Postpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Norwich 0-0 Coventry

Visitors Coventry are looking to end the first half strong, and have threatened twice in the past few minutes

Haji Wright tested Angus Gunn at his near post before Victor Thorp sent a rocket of a shot just over the bar.

  17. 'Happy to play tippy-tappy football'published at 15:41 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Preston 2-0 Ipswich

    Alex Mathie
Former Ipswich Town striker on BBC Radio Suffolk

Ipswich need to work harder on the ball. They are all just happy to play tippy-tappy football in their own half.

They are not even looking forward, it's all sideways, they need to start playing positive.

There's only one team that look like scoring.

  18. Postpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Hull 1-0 Millwall

Hull have been on top for most of this first half, but their lead is still only 1-0.

Fabio Carvalho, who scored the Tigers' winner at Sunderland last time out - almost doubled the home side's advantage after a slick move, but his effort was charged down.

  19. goal

GOAL: Rotherham 0-2 Southamptonpublished at 15:40 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Adam Armstrong (37 mins)

    Southampton celebrateImage source, PA Media

Southampton double the lead just before half-time against Rotherham.

Adam Armstrong strikes from the centre of the box and the Saints are flying.

  20. Postpublished at 15:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 February

    Huddersfield 0-0 Sheff Wed

Huddersfield substitute Ben Wiles is looking lively for the hosts since coming on.

He makes a Cruyff turn and works into space to whip a ball in to the back post towards Sorba Thomas but his effort is blocked by Sheffield Wednesday keeper James Beadle.
