  1. Soft goal to concedepublished at 16:15 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

It is a really soft goal from Dundee's point of view. The goalkeeper goes down on one knee and it goes straight through his legs.

I'm not even sure Bernardo gets much of a touch on it, but it's a good run from him.

  2. Bernardo persistencepublished at 16:14 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-1 Celtic

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker for Sky Sports

Bernardo has persisted in this game, making those forward runs.

It's no surprise Celtic have done the damage from the left-hand side. You can't say Celtic haven't deserved it, but you started to wonder after they didn't take chance after chance.

    Paulo Bernardo

    It had been coming!

Luis Palma threads a precise ball into the path of Paulo Bernardo.

The midfielder hardly gets much of a touch on the ball, but an awkward bounce takes it through the legs of goalkeeper Trevor Carson at his front post.

That's Bernardo's first goal for Celtic on loan from Benfica.

  4. Postpublished at 16:11 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

It's corner after corner, effort after effort from Celtic.

This time, a Callum McGregor cross finds the head of Paulo Bernardo, but his fellow midfielder's flicked header is a few feet over the crossbar.

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Celtic are shooting downhill this half, but for whom will it be an uphill battle in the next 45 minutes or so?

It's pin-ball inside the Dundee penalty box after an early Celtic corner, block after block as the visitors shoot on sight, but the hosts somehow survive.

  6. KICK-OFF SECOND HALFpublished at 16:06 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Celtic kick off with both sides showing no changes.

That means Dundee left-back Owen Beck has so far overcome that first-half knock.

Here come the teams again and there is a real look of determination on the faces of the visitors.

A big 45 minutes ahead if they are to avoid handing another title boost to city rivals Rangers.

  10. Nelms eyes 'summer of 2025'published at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    HT: Dundee 0-0 Celtic

John Nelms has more on the proposed new stadium.

"It's in Camperdown, it's a mile and a half as the crow flies," he says. "Right on the Kingsway, good ingress, egress, you don't have to bring all the buses into a neighbourhood. The land lends itself to a development like that.

"It'll cost a lot, I can't tell you exactly how much work. About £10m more than when we started. With the investment we have, for the equity and the facilities afforded, we think we can make it work.

"There are training facilities. We're looking at two different sites. The whole club will be based at the training facility and the stadium will be transient on matchdays.

"We're moving as fast as we can. My number is always unbelievably tight, which is the summer of 2025. You're looking at some time after that, for us to be kicking the ball in anger. I'd like work to start in 2024, late summer, early fall."

  11. New stadium 'going to happen'published at 15:59 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    HT: Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Dundee managing director John Nelms talked to BBC Scotland earlier about the club's proposed new stadium.

"We're definitely going to make it happen," he insisted. "We've spent a lot of money and effort so far. It's something we envisioned in 2016 and with Covid and a downturn in the economy, there's been a lot of hurdles in our way. It's something we think we really need.

"This old girl has done us a turn, she's been around for over 100 years. It's hard now to give a 21st century entertainment product in this building. It's unfortunate, but it's the natural evolution of what happens.

"We bought a piece of land in 2016. We have a host of people giving us information on what we should do and how we should do it, not just football but concerts and all the other accoutrements to make it work 24/7. All the hard work and the pictures you've seen is an accumulation of that hard work. We're saying here's what's coming. We have an enormous amount of planning to do, but we feel confident we'll get it done."

  12. Beck stars for Dundee againpublished at 15:55 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    HT: Dundee 0-0 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

It looked like Owen Beck might have to come off with a knock. But he's had Daizen Maeda where he wants him, which has been incredible.

  13. Celtic coming up shortpublished at 15:53 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    HT: Dundee 0-0 Celtic

    Pat Bonner
Former Celtic goalkeeper on BBC Sportsound

It's been 74% possession for Celtic, but credit to Dundee's defenders for putting their body in front of the ball.

Celtic had headers, had shot, but just haven't put the ball in the net and that's been an issue for them.

As long as it stays 0-0, it ups the pressure on Celtic and Dundee's chance could come along.

  14. HALF-TIME Dundee 0-0 Celticpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

Dundee survive to the break and can gather themselves for another backs-to-the-wall effort in the second half.

Celtic have had plenty of possession, and more than enough chances, but the Premiership leaders head to the dressing-room frustrated - just like they were at home to Livingston on Saturday.

  16. More efforts, same lack of end productpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

On that note from Kenny Miller, Celtic have had a wealthy 18 shots so far - seven more than they had against Livingston on Saturday in the first half.

However, they once again have just two shots on target. Profligate showing from Rodgers' side thus far.

  17. 'Horrific miss'published at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

    Chris Sutton
Former Celtic striker for Sky Sports

Some of the last-ditch defending from Dundee has been very good.

How many more opportunities are Celtic going to miss? It's a horrific miss from Palma at the back post.

  18. Postpublished at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

Another huge chance is squandered by the visitors.

Callum McGregor finds Luis Palma lurking unmarked at the back post.

However, the winger's header is poor and wide. Might have been offside in any case, but that doesn't excuse the poor execution.

  19. Another sluggish first 45?published at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

    Dundee 0-0 Celtic

    Kenny Miller
Former Celtic and Dundee striker on BBC Sportsound

This game has a very, very similar feel to game at the weekend.

Celtic are completely dominant, with a couple of chances missed, but it feels like Dundee might be able to get in 0-0 at half-time.

  20. Postpublished at 15:43 Greenwich Mean Time 26 December 2023

Callum McGregor has another shot blocked in front of the Dundee goal.

Are Dundee going to survive to half-time?
