Villa played well. They could have had another in injury-time.

The goal itself was great from Watkins turning and finishing well.

Gary O'Neil surely has to be in the running for Manager of the Year. The situation he walked into in August, Wolves losing most of their best players in the summer, the decisions that have gone against them and still having a great year. So impressive.

Watching it back it is a good finish from Taiwo Awoniyi. He has a good touch and on the half turn he slots it away - West Ham will be disappointed.

Matt: In response to Murphy, why not celebrate when you have the best defensive record in the league, don't be such a killjoy

Anon: @15:45 Murphy - hearing people complain about Arsenal celebrating is the most enjoyable thing about it lol keep it up lads the haters will hate

Dave: I firmly believe Arsenal shouldn't be allowed to celebrate anything, unless they've won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, Boat Race and Eurovision in the same week.

  5. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:54 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa

Ollie Watkins of Aston Villa celebratesImage source, Getty Images

Ollie Watkins has a chance to grab his second late in the half but his header takes a nick off a Fulham defender and goes over.

Unai Emery's side have been in control throughout, though. They've taken advantage of the home side's sloppiness and the only frustration will be that they don't lead by more.

  6. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Nottm Forest 1-0 West Ham

Taiwo Awoniyi's goal deep in stoppage time has the hosts ahead at the break.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa

Aston Villa should be 2-0 up!

Fulham lose the ball cheaply in the midfield and Villa fly forward with numbers.

Ollie Watkins plays in Youri Tielemens but the Belgium midfielder sees his shot saved by the feet of Bernd Leno.

Leon Bailey's effort is then deflected over the bar.

    Big chance missed for Villa.

  8. HALF-TIMEpublished at 15:52 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Tottenham 0-1 Wolves

This is shaping up to be another Wolves masterclass on the road.

Joao Gomes' free header is the difference between the two sides so far.

  9. Postpublished at 15:51 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Tottenham 0-1 Wolves

Can Spurs claw their way back into this contest before the break?

Pretty much like the rest of the half, they attack but with little purpose.

Chances down both flanks - Ben Davies on the left and Emerson Royal on t'other - are repelled by the Wolves defence.

A big goal for Nottingham Forest right before half-time!

West Ham only half clear a ball into the box and as it is sent back in, Taiwo Awoniyi controls superbly before turning and finishing clinically.

  11. 'It's hard to see how Burnley may get back into this'published at 15:50 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    HT: Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

    Chris Sutton
Former Blackburn striker on BBC Radio 5 Live

They would have seen Liverpool winning earlier at Brentford but will have just concentrated on their own performance and they have been brilliant.

It is hard to see how Burnley may get back into this in the second half.

    Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Liverpool laid down the gauntlet to their title rivals and Arsenal are responding.

Martin Odegaard's early strike was added to by Bukayo Saka's penalty and Arsenal are cruising towards a fifth straight win at the start of 2024.

Burnley have not had a shot on goal.

    Newcastle 0-0 Bournemouth

Decent chances for both sides but goalless at the break.

  14. Postpublished at 15:49 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Tottenham 0-1 Wolves

    Spurs on the rack here.

Craig Dawson sprays a ball wide like prime Beckenbauer and Pablo Sarabia's sweet connection is beaten away by Spurs keeper Guglielmo Vicario.

The flag went up anyway but still...

  15. Postpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa

Fulham are giving it a bit more of a go late in the half but that Rodrigo Muniz header aside, all they have mustered is a couple of ambitious appeals for a penalty.

  16. Postpublished at 15:48 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Newcastle 0-0 Bournemouth

Miguel Almiron, who has been a real livewire for Newcastle, is brought down by Marcos Senesi and Newcastle have a free-kick in a decent position.

Kieran Trippier sends the ball in but Bournemouth are just about able to scramble away.

Arsenal defenders celebrating basic defending or tackling is really frustrating for a neutral. Remember when Balotelli said the postman doesn't celebrate delivering the post? Just do your job lads.

  20. CLOSE!published at 15:45 Greenwich Mean Time 17 February

    Fulham 0-1 Aston Villa

That's as close as Fulham have come!

Andreas Pereira delivers the corner from the right, Rodrigo Muniz is up to meet it and his header has Emi Martinez scrambling.

The ball bounces just wide of the far post but that was not far away at all.
