  1. No place like home...published at 13:15 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

Having previously made Molineux a fortress, Wolves have not enjoyed many home comforts in recent weeks.

Gary O'Neil's side have suffered successive home league defeats, having previously been unbeaten in eight matches at Molineux.

The crazy 4-3 loss to Manchester United on 1 February was followed by a 2-0 reverse against Brentford, the last time Wolves played at home.

Wolves have not won a league game at home in 2024 yet - their last Premier League victory here was on 30 December, 3-0 against Everton.

  2. Neto eyeing double figures for assistspublished at 13:12 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

Pedro Neto has been one of the standout wingers in the Premier League this season. The Portuguese forward has provided nine assists in the league in 2023-24.

This equals the Wolves club record for assists in a Premier League season, previously set by Adama Traore in 2019-20.

Hwang has put his bib back on and has returned to the training drill with his team mates. As you were, but one to keep an eye on.

Gary O'Neil will be very keen that the man who has scored 11 goals for Wolves this season is fit and firing today.

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

Hwang is back on his feet and jogging. He doesn't look too comfortable, but seems to be moving ok.

It was a strange one, as it didn't look as if he received any serious contact from a team mate.

  6. Hwang down in warm-uppublished at 13:02 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

This does not look good for Hwang Hee-chan. The Wolves top scorer has gone down in the warm-up and is getting treatment.

It looks like a problem with his left knee, and the Korean forward does not look like a happy bunny at all.

  7. Sheffield United have 'no more moves to make'published at 13:00 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

It's been an incredibly bemusing season to be a Sheffield United fan – although some supporters may choose a somewhat harsher word.

Witnessing the team concede five at Bramall Lane for the third home game running [against Brighton] should probably be enough to have a fanbase up in arms but, instead, the now familiar sight of the ground emptying out with 20 minutes still to play just emphasises the feeling of apathy around the club.

Part of it comes down to having played all our cards - we've changed manager, tried different formations, had the January transfer window and even promoted some youth players into the team. There are no more moves to make – just 13 more games to try to get through and not be humiliated on quite so regular a basis.

On a bigger scale, what's the goal for next season? Ordinarily, a relegated side would hope to bounce straight back up – and, of course, I hope for a successful and enjoyable season. However, under the current owner and off-field infrastructure, we'd only find ourselves back in the same hopelessly outmatched situation.

This has to have been the first season in my time supporting United where I've found myself having an existential crisis during the games. The only thing I'm clinging to is that at least back in the Championship we're unlikely to see quite so many matches be over as a contest after 20 minutes.

  8. Is there any hope for Sheffield United?published at 12:55 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

At the risk of hyperbole, if Sheffield United avoid relegation it must surely go down as the most unlikely escape in Premier League history.

Their tally of 13 points is four fewer than any other team has had after 25 games of a Premier League season, who has then gone on to avoid relegation.

There are not many green shoots of hope for the Blades, although one emerged when they beat Luton in their most recent away league game.

United today could register consecutive top-flight victories on their travels for the first time since December 2019, in Chris Wilder's first spell as manager.

  9. The battle at the bottompublished at 12:50 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

The angle from which you look at it does not matter. It's a bleak sight for Sheffield United.

But a win today would take the Blades to five points from safety, while Everton and Nottingham Forest's points totals are not set in stone due to various legal issues.

It may be scraping the barrel - but when you're bottom of the table, you have to keep scraping.

  10. The battle for seventhpublished at 12:45 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

It's the most important and exciting race in the Premier League this season. Maybe.

But with European qualification likely to be on offer for the side which finishes seventh in the table, there is plenty to play for - particularly for a club like Wolves for who a European adventure is not an annual occurance.

After Brighton dropped points at home to Everton yesterday, a win for Wolves today would take them a point off the top seven.

  11. Stat attackpublished at 12:40 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

    • Wolves are unbeaten in nine home games against Sheffield United in all competitions since a 3-1 defeat in the second tier in October 2002.
    • Wolves' tally of 10 league victories this season is only one short of their total for 2022-23.
    • Wolves are the only team not to have scored a Premier League goal from outside the penalty area this season. They have had 101 attempts on goal from that range.
    • Sheffield United have conceded 65 league goals this season, the most by a team after 25 matches of a top-flight campaign since 1963-64 when Ipswich let in 70.
    • James McAtee is vying to become the first player to score in three successive top-flight away fixtures for the Blades since Bill Dearden from December 1972 to February 1973.
  12. What happened last time these sides met?published at 12:35 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

    Goodness me, where to start?

Sheffield United won the reverse fixture 2-1 in November courtesy of Oliver Norwood's penalty in the 10th minute of added time, their first league victory of the season.

Fabio Silva was judged by VAR to have fouled Norwood in the area. It's fair to say Gary O'Neil disagreed.

The Wolves manager told Match of the Day: "I don't really know what to say on it apart from it's not a penalty.

"If that's a foul then there were a million fouls in that match today. The referee was so quick to want to give it, it's never a clear penalty. He just needs to wait calmly and if he's made a big error then VAR will let him know. It's never a penalty kick.

"I don't know where to go with it. We're told to go in and have a sensible conversation but I do and he's [Robert Jones] still sat there watching it with me and telling me it's a penalty. That tells me that we're in a crazy place."

Much has changed since then. Fabio Silva has gone on loan to Rangers, while Sheffield United have changed manager - Paul Heckingbottom sacked in favour of Chris Wilder.

One thing that hasn't changed is that we are still talking about VAR. The joy.

  13. Team news - Wolves unchanged, Grbic back in goal for Bladespublished at 12:30 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13:30 GMT)

Wolves are, perhaps unsurprisingly, unchanged from the side that won 2-1 at Tottenham last weekend, fielding not just the same starting XI but also an identical matchday squad overall.

Wolves XI: Sa, Kilman, Dawson, Toti, Semedo, Lemina, Joao Gomes, Ait-Nouri, Sarabia, Neto, Hwang.

Subs: Bentley, Doherty, S Bueno, Traore, H Bueno, Doyle, Chirewa, Bellegarde, Fraser.

Sheffield United make four changes from their 5-0 thumping by Brighton.

Goalkeeper Ivo Grbic returns after concussion protocols forced him to miss the Blades' past three games as Wes Foderingham makes way.

Auston Trusty replaces the suspended Mason Holgate while Oliver Norwood and Rhian Brewster come in for Ben Osborn and William Osula respectively.

Sheffield United XI: Grbic, Trusty, Ahmedhodzic, Robinson, Bogle, Hamer, Souza, Norwood, Larouci, McAtee, Brewster.

Subs: Foderingham, Sasnauskas, Curtis, Davies, Osborn, Arblaster, Brooks, Osula, McBurnie.

  14. Chris Sutton's predictionpublished at 12:25 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

    Chris Sutton
Former Premier League winner for BBC Sport

Wolves will win - the only question is: by how many?

Sheffield United are down as far as I am concerned, they have had it.

They beat Wolves at Bramall Lane at the start of November but that doesn't matter - apart from their win at Luton earlier this month, it has felt like the Blades are getting smashed every week.

    Sutton's prediction: 2-0

  15. Early team newspublished at 12:20 Greenwich Mean Time 25 February

Wolves v Sheffield United (13.30 GMT)

Wolves' only absentee is Matheus Cunha, who is not expected to return from a hamstring injury until after the international break in late March.

Sheffield United defender Mason Holgate begins a three-match suspension as a consequence of his red card against Brighton.

We will have the full team news in around 10 minutes' time...

Just the one Premier League game this Sunday, as Wolves host Sheffield United at Molineux.

A win will move Wolves just a point off the top seven, while United desperately need to start picking up points as they aim for a great escape.

    Should be a good one.
