  1. Postpublished at 12:37 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 1-0 Newcastle

The Newcastle fans continue their raucous backing from the stands but it's Manchester United who look well on top now. Can they add to that lead before the break?

  2. CLOSE!published at 5 mins

    Durham 0-0 Manchester City

First corner of the game goes to City, and they play it short.

It's a well-worked move, which ends with Naoisha McAloon having to make a smart low save at her near post from Laia Aleixandri.

The follow-up corner flies over whips right across the face of goal, helped on by Lauren Hemp's head, and just wide of the far post/

  3. 'Durham have a dangerous record'published at 12:34 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Durham 0-0 Man City

    Rachel Corsie
Scotland and Aston Villa defender on BBC Radio 5 Live

I think in the past, Durham have had a dangerous cup record and you can see that by the way Manchester City have set up.

Any opportunity Durham get, they will look to put pressure on, make a tackle, foul, just break City up from gaining any rhythm.

  4. Postpublished at 2 mins

    Durham 0-0 Manchester City

    No cap for Keating. Brave.

Another challenge for City today is the artificial pitch at Maiden Castle. It's the only non-grass pitch in the top two divisions of women's football.

  5. KICK-OFFpublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Durham 0-0 Manchester City

We are underway at Maiden Castle.

There was a change of ends before kick-off, meaning the away side will be kicking into the sun in the first half.

Hopefully Khiara Keating remembered her cap.

No saving that one! Manchester United lead and it's a touch of real class from the England forward. A dangerous cross from the left by Lucia Garcia is hacked out but only to Ella Toone, who takes a touch and then pings a shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

  7. GREAT SAVE!published at 12:29 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

Another chance goes begging for the home side! Nikita Parris is able to roll her defender neatly inside the area and fires in low, but Grace Donnelly saves with her left foot.

Kick-off in the sun-soaked, freezing cold north east is coming shortly.

Tasks don't get much tougher than facing record 14-time FA Cup holders Arsenal away from home, but that is the assignment in front of Watford this afternoon.

The Hornets sit bottom of the Championship having collected just six points from their opening 12 league games this season. Although they will be able to call on trio of loanees Michelle Agyemang, Laila Harbert and Katie Reid, who parent club Arsenal have permitted to play against them this afternoon.

Three points off Chelsea at the top of the WSL, Arsenal will be confident of securing a first FA Cup win since 2016 this season.

Arsenal Jonas Eidevall makes two changes from the side's North London derby loss to Spurs before the winter break. He hands a debut to new signing Emily Fox in defence, and Vivianne Miedema also starts, as Steph Catley and Frida Maanum drop out.

Arsenal XI: Zinsberger, Fox, Wubben-Moy, Mead, Miedema, Walti, McCabe (c), Foord, Pelova, Russo, Ilestedt

Watford XI: Goldsmid, Leon, Meiwald, Agyemang, Georgiou (c), Harbert, Wilson, Fyfe, Hayes, Reid, Heinson

While London City Lionesses were vying for promotion to the Women's Super League last season, Coach Hannah Humphreys has insisted Moneyfields will not be heading to Kent to make up the numbers.

"An FA Cup game, no matter what opposition you are playing, anything can happen," she said. "This is a really hard test but we are by no means backing down.

"We want to go and put on a really good performance, put up a fight - we don't want people to think we're going into the game to sit back and try to minimise the scoreline.

She concluded, "We want to try and hurt the opposition and show what we can do. We are not letting the level of opposition scare us."

A fan has made this lovely and heartfelt poster for Alessia Russo ahead of Arsenal's tie against Watford.

A serious amount of effort has gone into that.

  15. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 12:17 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

So close! And that goes down as a fine save from Grace Donnelly! Ella Toone has the shot from about 12 yards out, the Newcastle keeper gets a big hand on it to push against the post and the ball just about stays out.

A fine save indeed but Manchester United really should be ahead now. That's two golden opportunities they've spurned.

  16. Postpublished at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

Slack! Manchester United skipper Katie Zelem is caught on the ball just outside her own area and it opens up for Georgia Gibson to have a crack, but the Newcastle number 10 never gets hold of the shot and it's tame.

  17. Who are Durham?published at 12:15 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

Durham v Manchester City (12:30 GMT)

Fixtures in the Championship ever since being founded in 2014, Durham are experienced campaigners.

Last year they were beaten 5-0 by Manchester United at Leigh Sports Village in the fifth round, but this game could be a different matter at their home stadium of Maiden Castle.

Captain Sarah Wilson told the Northern Echo, external this week: "The crowd really know how to get behind us.

"They do get us over the line. It's a really personal club and having over 2,000 of them out there getting behind us will give us that bit of an advantage."

  18. Postpublished at 12:12 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

Great challenge! Newcastle attack well but they are vulnerable on the turnover, with Lucia Garcia carrying the ball clear for Manchester United and then picking out Ella Toone on the gallop to her right.

Toone looks to cut inside the final defender but it's a fine tackle from Hannah Greenwood to nick the ball away.

  19. 'I love being from the north-east'published at 12:10 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

Durham v Manchester City (12:30 GMT)

While this game is a marquee occasion for Durham, it is also incredibly special for Manchester City captain Steph Houghton, who is on the bench today.

Houghton was born in Durham, and this week told Emma Sanders how special it is to be returning home in the FA Cup.

"It's nice to go back home. They train on the pitch that the likes of Jill [Scott], Demi [Stokes] and myself did our England programme at," said Houghton.

"To go back and relive those moments which helped us get to where we are today, yeah, I'm looking forward to it. I can't wait to see all the family as well.

"I love my hometown. I love being from the north-east and I'm proud to be from there. I do feel a lot of my attributes on the pitch are because of the people I grew up with.

"They were hard-working people, from working-class families. They took nothing for granted and earned what they got. When I go back, that's the reminder I get of who I am as a person. If you stick to that, then you can go as far as you want."

As well as growing up in Durham, Houghton began her stellar career in the north east with Sunderland - the club she supports - before going on to captain England for eight years, picking up 121 international caps and playing in five major tournaments.

  20. Postpublished at 12:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 January

    Manchester United 0-0 Newcastle

An excellent tempo to this game. Newcastle win the ball back high up the field but can't get a shot away, before the hosts counter and Brazilian Geyse whistles a shot over the bar on the volley.
